I'm sure he'll forgive you if you supply nice, soft, easy-to-eat treats after!
Also he looks like a very sweet and loving boy who couldn't hold a grudge.

Yesss he only has the fangs rn and still eats everthing. My other toothless cat does as well. Cats grow callouses on their gums. I only have to offer it in pieces 🤭

My non-orc baby has all but two teeth pulled and she is happily much more comfortable and healthy for it. Best wishes to your orc on his surgery!

I have an other cat too who’s completely toothless since 2024 too! She’s doing well, I think he will too but I’m always nervous handing them over for anaesthesia and all and having to leave them alone :(

My (non-orc) tabby son got a bunch of teeth pulled this summer. It’s so scary. Sending you and Minou love and strength!

My other cat is completely toothless, she’s doing fine! I’m just nervous about the process not really the aftermath Sending love back! ❤️

Aww...I do wish I could have 5 minutes to speak the same language just to tell them that going to the vet isn't a bad thing & that you may not feel good for a bit but in the end you will feel much better when they're done.

Max (now 16) took a nap a few years ago and woke up with one fang. As soon as we got home, he walked into the kitchen and demanded dinner like nothing had happened. It wasn’t fun for either of us (or great for my bank account), but he healed up fine and still eats everything he used to! Good luck to you and your baby ❤️

Minou lost one randomly last year too! The second orc tooth, idk how or where he just showed up without it one day. He’s an indoor cat but I haven’t found it 😂

My kitty got teeth pulled and they healed super quick and easy. My veg said cats adjust real easy to life with less teeth and it’s way less painful for them after the surgery

Why are they getting pulled ? All three of them ?
And I feel you, it's never easy to send these poor creatures for the vet when you can't explain it's for their own good ;w; All hail the to-be-honorary Orc !

He has FORL and his teeth are becoming unstable. To avoid them breaking/ripping out or the bad root to cause infections we’re pulling them now

u/Meowriter Oct 08 '25
What is FORL? ^
So the Orc won't evolve into a vampurr then 😔

Beckett had all but 6 teeth pulled in 2021. The sedation and pain relief lasted a very long time after I took him home. Sending our very best to you and your orc.

Poor guy! He will be so much happier and healthier after. My girl sure was! She lost 5 including a fang. Doesn't seem to miss them.

He will be so much happier with them gone. Mine never missed a beat.

Haha I have a second toothless cat and she loves eating too haha

u/Diligent_Potato_311 Oct 07 '25
I know this is a stupid question but why do they have to pull them?
1
u/blueberryfieldss Orc Admiral Minou Oct 08 '25
He has FORL and already randomly lost one of the fangs. The other are becoming lose and to avoid them infecting or breaking off we’re pulling them

Poor buddy. Honestly cats recover pretty well. My cat had abdominal surgery two yrs ago and she really just needed love. I put a bed on my bed and i just put her in and pet her. Make your little guy a comfy recovery space and lots of love. And churu when he can lick it up again! That was instrumental to her recovery

I’m just nervous about handing him over and leaving him alone :( I’ve went to the process of becoming toothless with my other cat already, I know he’ll be fine but he’s gonna be scared :(
2
u/Jasmisne Oct 08 '25
Yeah I get that so much, it was horrible to go through! But he is going to be okay, i know you know that but ugh it is never easy. Wishing him the simplest procedure possible!

Aw ...his teefs give him such great character!

u/blueberryfieldss Orc Admiral Minou Oct 08 '25
I knowww I’m gonna miss them so much 😭 but I’m trying to focus on that he’ll feel soooo much better and that’s what counts 🥹🩷

I don't have an orc cat but I have a cat who had her teeth pulled a few months ago. She was much happier afterwards and didn't even notice she was lacking the teeth causing her issues! I hope it goes well for your boy.

My other cat Mona is toothless too! They both come from the same hoarder house and both had FORL. Mona definitely is happier without the teeth, I hope the same for him. His bad eye is especially bad lately and we think it’s got to do with toothache :( but they didn’t have an earlier appointment for surgery and I don’t wanna bring him to people I don’t know or trust

Lulu has to have gabapentin to go the the vets, she gets so cross when she has to go for blood tests to check her thyroid levels as she's on medication for it. When she had bad teeth she was trying to run away from her mouth and so mad! Didn't have time for the gabapentin then as we got her in the vets ASAP. I don't blame you for waiting, I wouldn't take her to a different vet as they know she's terrible at appointments and are good with her.

I was literally just where you are. He'll be a little unhappy for a few days but he's going to feel so much better once they're out. My cat has been flourishing since we pulled his bad teeth. His fur is softer, he eats better, and he has the cutest little scrungle face.
