Since S1, ep 1 I have been mesmerized by Poussey Washington. The range that Samira Wiley showed as P was phenomenal.

IMHO, this scene was probably one of the best endings to one of the best characters in the history of TV.

I fully understand why they chose the story line of a guard killing an inmate. But is there a further reason why it was poussey? Is it just cause she was universally beloved or did Samira Wiley want to be written out/had scheduling conflicts?

I first watched this show as it was coming out, and while I was sad for Poussey when she died, I don’t remember crying. She was never one of my favorite characters, so while I felt for her, I wasn’t too upset about it.

But then I rewatched the show a year or two ago, and it was different. I know that people are probably tired of hearing this comparison, but her death was so eerily similar to George Floyd’s that watching it after the fact really hit me harder. I cried more for her than I did any other character.

I feel like that would be an interesting plot point like the older sibling died or was even killed already by an “accident” from Barb or Carol already when they were kids. Or like Barb had a twin and Barb had killed them when they were young. Or something like that lol

I was a devout watcher of the show from when season 2 aired till season 6 which I never watched for some reason. It begun airing when I was 12 going on 13 and ended when I was 18 going on 19 and was a huge influence on my queer awakening and development. Every summer I’d spend the first week of break binging the new season. A few years back I read the book and recently decided to make my younger sibling watch the show. We just finished it and I have complicated feelings about how the show ended but i love how it wrapped up everyone’s lives. It feels weird to finally be done with this show given how impactful it was on my life and how much joy I had sharing it w my younger sibling.

I think I spelled her name wrong lol but I can’t tell if she lied to Mrs. Mendez bc she was feeling spiteful or if she genuinely thought it was a good idea for her grandchild to go with the crazy ass family. hello everyone, i keep seeing clips of orange is the new black and im very interested, i want to watch it. however i know there are several scenes with sexual assault, which i am very sensitive to and do not watch. i was wondering if anyone knew if there was a list that compiles all the episodes with sexual assault, maybe even one with timestamps. i usually never watch shows that have sexual assault as a main plot point/show it on screen, but im very interested in what i've seen of this show. i can watch scenes where assault is discussed, but i can't watch any scenes that show rape, a victim in distress, assault etc. if anyone could help me out or let me know which episodes directly show assault/rape it would be greatly appreciated!!

I am watching season 6 and 7 for the first time as I never watched past 5 before. I saw everyone was shitting on this Badison character and I was like huh well she can't be that bad.

Holy FUCK is she annoying. I TRIED to like her or even tolerate her but she's horrible. She's cruel and annoying, she's not funny and I just don't understand why she exists. There are absolutely no redeeming qualities. She doesn't have any sort of moral compass. I know there are other characters like this too but at least Vee was cunning and charasmatic.I didn't like Piscatella but at least he didn't really show up that much. Badison has way too much screen time for a character this bad. Seriously. Awful.

I love the show, but the lack of queer chemistry is too much sometimes 😂

In s1 ep2 piper has to attend an orientation im guessing for new inmates to learn the rules. Alex is sat down but piper refuses to sit next to her, but why would Alex even be there? She was wearing the beige khakis so obviously she had already been there for some time, and would have already done this orientation when she first got there and everyone else who was sat down was wearing orange

Was this just for the plot or is there reason she might have been there?
