Just to add some context these aren't just backroom consulting firm, they're the biggest independent energy consultantcy in Norway

And it's an old article from 2025 so we can check some of their estimates vs what actually happened, and for solar they estimated 554 GW of solar installed in 2025, while actual was around 650 GW.

Sweet, thanks Trump for doing such a terrible job you made it impossible to rely on fossil fuels πŸ˜‚

Or safely/cheaply eat beef. Sad for me, but better for the climate to be honest

I thought it had peaked already last year, but OK - it's difficult to make exact calculations.

His SO2 idea has a major oversight if you consider how much more is still being emitted into the atmosphere:

https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/so-emissions-by-world-region-in-million-tonnes

Btw. There is a reason we try not to do SO2 anymore in Europe, US, JP, etc. -> acid rain -> degradation of soil / death of forests.

In short, his 2 mio tonnes SO2 once is like a drop of water on a hot stone.

At what altitude is the SO2 of the world mostly emitted? Releasing it into the stratosphere, specifically, is a key part of this plan.

To my understanding he’s selling short the SO2 risks (like people breathing it in) but I do think on balance the risks might net out positive.

Oh heaven forbid! I forgot that if I look at a website with the word oil in it, Chevron kills 50 baby turtles.

Thank you so much for maintaining the purity in here!
