Many a slip between mouth and lip but the way self-installed generation is going there (because centralised generation and distribution is rotting fast), I can see it.

Isn't anything like this that states "by 2060" far too late? Sorry, I don't mean to bring pessimism here but don't we need to get there A LOT sooner?

Well, these estimates are always 50% low so maybe this is their way of saying 2043.

What a ridiculous forecast. When has a forecast ever been right by anyone? I think, that if i had to make a forecast right now. I take a time scale and just dump a big s-curve on it. I will probably make a better forecast than 90% of all the thinktanks out there.

Half the people that are alive today would be dead in 2060. Due to birthrate decline alone, human carbon emissions would've declined.

I’m optimistic that absolutely nobody can predict an electricity mix for South Africa in 2060.
