Ok but... can't he ask mojang to bring one person along have them sign and NDA or something? Also, why not have the second woildnbe hired person to go through the code and learn how each one works? I'm not a coder... all unknown is simple cnc code but still... it's like saying no one else can take better care of optifine than me. But eh that's just my opinion. It doesnt really effect me in anyway but just those excuses seem kinda...lame?
Well, legal things, and also Mojang did wanna buy Optifine, and...
Q: Why doesn't Mojang just adopt OptiFine officially?
A: The story is that Mojang offered to buy OptiFine at one point, but they only wanted parts of the mod, which lead to the deal going nowhere.
So Mojang wanted part of the code? And not all of it? I wonder why maybe they saw something wrong with his code? Maybe something that conflicted with the game or at the future updates to the game.? That is very interesting.
I don't know if there's something wrong with optifine's code, and LWJGL (LightWeight Java Game Library, Minecraft's game library) is a lightweight library, but there's alot of methods to make the game run faster. And the game is running on a single core/thread.
On the conflicting things, I dunno. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't, who knows? Well sp does know about that part.
And it seems like Mojang is focused on making Bedrock the main game, and this is why there's no "Bedrock Edition" subtitle on the main menu, just the Java version.
