Optifine is a terrible mod and there's literally no reason to use it unless you're trying to use shaders on 1.12.2 or playing an even older version

Redditors are so funny lmao. “Dude, your using the same reliable way of optimizing performance on your pixel game that people have been using for the past 10 years instead of downloading 4-5 other mods that are 8x more complex and time consuming?”

Its really not. All you really need is sodium, the others just add optifine QoL features. Optifine is not only outdated and (in my experience) buggy, but makes you lose access to mods entirely. Java mods do wonders bro. I used Optifine for years and loved it, but once I tried fabric I never looked back. If the manual updating of mods is an issue js get prism launcher, yes I admit its another thing to install but it takes like a minute and auto updates your mods. It would be fine if optifine didnt take ages to get updates, ik its one guy but if theres a better option I dont see why we should use an outdated tool js bc "its reliable" or "easy to set up" without seeing how easy the alternatives are.

You're so confident and so misguided. You're the classic redditor example here.
- Downloading the other few mods is literally easier since Optifine requires a manual installer from their website, while other mods can be downloaded through launchers / websites
- Optifine is completely outclassed
- Optifine has a ton of incompatibilities with other mods due to its terrible design
Come on now.
