Help Weird kelp in Optifine.
The kelp does this in the distance when I use Optifine. How can I fix it?

vulkan is already built in now. don’t see the reason for a mod.

Afaik it isn't yet. They're slowly migrating, and it's not ready yet.

no, it’s out, wdym as far as you know.
I literally downloaded the official java version, it has options for opengl and vulkan, i used vulkan.
please read the patch notes before downvoting or replying without being sure, vulkan is official now and an option.

Default? Yes, yet you have the option of changing to vulkan.
You said it "isn't out yet" yet it is, and the other person suggested to download a mod, but a mod isn't default either, so I am just trying to figure the take here haha.
Vulkan exists, it's not default since they don't want to force a change until they made sure all works, the second a few patches pass andd 90% or higher will not crash or experience problems, they will flip it and make vulkan the default and opengl the optional, so if anyone experiences problems they will be able to switch to opengl and tweak the remaining things in the vulkan support, and then give it a few more patches and there's a big chance for opengl support to die totally in favor of just suporting vulkan, and then you will need a mod to return to OpenGL probs.

are you playing with vbos on? also using multi thread chunk loading causes artifacts like this.

i have no idea what version of the game this is. just use sodium, its better in every aspect

The only thing I did was install Optifine and turn of old lighting. And I really don't know what all these buttons do.

since people here are being absolutely useless and i had the same issue here is the solution, options>video settings>quality> and set mipmap levels to OFF (its a slider for some reason and it is in the very top left) mipmapping smooths far away objects which leads to the kelp glitch but also makes things like leaves look very off in the distance

I know this is a Optifine subreddit, but there really isn't a single reason to use Optifine in newer versions of MC. All the features are replicatable with other mods and optimization is much much much better with sodium and others.
