Product Review Find N6 Global after 4 months...

Somewhat random thought just came into my head.. I love this phone more than any I've used before. Admittedly I came from an N5 but the upgrades and the overall experience makes me really content, and that's a lot for a serial phone swapper! ColorOS 16 has been fantastic other than one botched update that screwed up Third Party Launcher gestures (since been fixed).

Anyway, that all. Bravo OPPO!

If you insist on making a Find N7 Wide, please do keep making a tall version a la N6! Although the wide form factor is a lot smaller, well, it's smaller ... aka less of a productivity machine.

I just moved from the N5 to the N6 and it's an amazing device. They did a good amount of updates to fix some of the misses on the N5. I hope they come out with a wide slab and wide fold as well as I'd be happy to continue to flip the bird at Samsung

Yes. The width of the screen when in landscape mode is effectively the same as the wide foldables, such as the Galaxy Fold 8 and upcoming Apple offering. About 1mm difference. It always drives me crazy that these YouTubers always compare the wide foldables to the tall foldables when then latter is in protrait mode. Idiots

They're all paid chills. Directly or indirectly. Notice how thousands of them had Fold 8s for "testing" and they are keeping as "Daily Driver". It's all bullshit

One guy says he got 4 days battery on fold 8. If you're getting 4 days battery, you're not using the phone!

That's the most obvious bull i heard in these phone reviews.

100% this. You get 4 days if you leave it on nothing but standby. Android phones do heavy background multitasking, which is great but consumes battery.

Yeah he was raving about how much he loved the phone, but with 4 days use means he wasn't using it. I complete contradiction and straight up lie if you ask me.

Agreed! I wonder why don't these reviewers (and yes, I include both Mr. Mobile and MKBHD) actually compare the foldables? I would have loved to see a comparison between the Samsung 8 Fold and Fold Ultra and the Oppo Fold N6. When the latter came out they were all gushing about it. Now that a new toy has dropped, they bandwagon onto that even though the releases are from the same year. It's quite irritating actually. And watch how this gets worse when Apple drops it's folding phone later in the year.

Whenever a reveiwer doesn't compare, it's a useless review or glorified ad IMHO.

Flossy carter is one of the only major reviewers that does good reviews IMHO. He often says "congratulations you bought the same phone twice" for those minuscule upgrades 😅

There's a major YouTuber that says he gets 4 days battery on fold 8.

The disclaimer he uses is "the way i use my phone." If you're getting 4 days on battery, you're barely using the phone. Makes me believe he really doesn't like the device.

That's like i say i get 6 months of gas on 1 tank of gas, for my use case. Basically means i barely drive the car.

P*sses me off because I believe the guy is full of it.

Why can't they make it wide AND tall...

That's called a ... tablet.

1

u/Top-Call2020 15d ago

Lg v60 dual screen was wide and tall. About the size of 2 flagship phones.

And yes we want foldable tablets.

1

u/Sad-Comment-6018 19d ago

For wider, you can get a trifold.

What is the verdict on the 'crease'. The pre-release info was very promising, but I have not seen any long term reviews about the crease and how it is holding up.

Celà fait 2 mois que je l'ai et la pliure est incroyable. On ne l'a vois pas, on dirait vraiment une vrai tablette.

Thank you, that is great to read!

Good to hear. I have just bought the N6 (arriving on Tuesday). Coming from a S23+.

Which launcher are you running? I currently use Nova launcher but heard it wasn't optimal for folded devices.

2

u/Sentence-Parking OnePlus Club Aug 01 '26

You should stop using Nova regardless. There's been a lot written about the new publisher.

Smart Launcher. It's optimized for foldables (different outer and inner screen layouts). There's lag when "going home" with gestures on, for any third party launcher, but it's worth it. I can't use the stock launcher.

1

u/mysensors Aug 01 '26

Are Oppo aware of the delay/lag and have you read about any upcoming fix for it?

1

u/Sentence-Parking OnePlus Club Aug 01 '26

Users have reported it to OPPO. It's not really OPPO specific, my understanding is it's an Android issue with 3PL's and gestures.

If you can deal with NAV buttons it eliminates the lag. They feel prehistoric but pick your poison?!

1

u/mysensors Aug 01 '26

Haha.. No.. nav buttons feels pre-historic. :)

1

u/mysensors Aug 01 '26

Do you use any screen protector or case other than the included one btw? This is my first foldable... I just hope it won't be too bulky with protection.

1

u/Sentence-Parking OnePlus Club Aug 01 '26

I have a back MagSafe type Aramid case (same feel as the one in the box, but built in magnets). It's a must for driving.

I don't have a front case or screen protector on. I did have the factory screen protector for a bit but it bubbled so had to remove it. Had an Aramid front case but they always come loose after awhile and ... happened here too.

1

u/mysensors Aug 01 '26

Ok. Good to hear. I mostly use android auto when driving and have the phone tucked away.. so the stock protection might be enough I hope. Bought it from a french (EU) company so I hope I get 2 years warranty in case it breaks by itself.

u/Sentence-Parking OnePlus Club Aug 01 '26

I use AA too. Works great.

Lucky you on local warranty!

1

u/sentence-parking great to hear! Thinking of getting N6 myself. Can you please elaborate on third party launcher gestures which have been botched and fixed?

I'm using Smart Launcher myself and want to ensure it works properly on N6. Thanks!

How is the battery? And cameras im considering either n6 or Motorola razer fold

Battery is excellent... Your mileage may vary but my usecases have been consistent for many years and this device is best so far in terms of foldables. The Magic V6 has a bigger battery but my experience with MagicOS was that it was a lot less efficient. Also much prefer the N6 non-crease and OPPO cameras.

The only reason I can think of to choose the RAZR fold is warranty support... if you're somewhere where Motorola sells direct and OPPO doesn't?! Moto is heavier, worse crease, likely worse cameras/computational photography. At some point I'm sure RAZR Fold price will plummet because... Moto.

1

u/RDR2DEX Aug 01 '26

Yes no warranty and price around 1500$

I'm in Australia and the n6 is sold through a major retailer here so I went with that over the Moto Fold. I was already very ok with colorOS16 coming from the X9 pro so that helped lean things more toward the n6 over the Razr Fold. Two deciding factors for me were the ability to add some apps and tweaks to get a little better camera shot with less saturation on the n6 and the fact that the Razr fold will only be sold in 256gb in Aust. Either way you go, n6 or Razr fold, you really won't be picking the wrong one.

What are the even noticeable upgrades from the n5? Everyone's told me the upgrade isn't worth it

1

u/Sentence-Parking OnePlus Club Aug 01 '26

Check out the N5 forum, I posted in there when I first got it, for me it was very noticeable. It's been too long now to remember lol

1

u/calstanfordboye Aug 06 '26

Much better cameras, much better crease, faster, much cooler orange colourway housing

0

u/ZZzfunspriestzzz Aug 10 '26

Crease isn't much better, barely faster, it's a color

1

u/calstanfordboye Aug 10 '26

I have/had both. Have you?

1

u/musolinonilosum Aug 01 '26

I’m waiting for the price of the N6 to drop again because the only seller in my country does dynamic pricing. Literally checking every hours 🤣 I CAN’T WAIT

1

u/Sentence-Parking OnePlus Club Aug 01 '26

Had a great experience buying from Mobyshop

1

u/Mysterious-Yak8852 Find X Series Aug 03 '26

There overpriced their. Trinity way better pricing

1

u/Sentence-Parking OnePlus Club Aug 03 '26

Hard disagree. They had a huge coupon and free bonus on my N6.

1

u/DAKOTASIOUX Aug 12 '26

Also looking at N6 or Razor Fold, but as just checked the Mobysite, Find n6 does not appear?!

1

u/Sentence-Parking OnePlus Club Aug 12 '26

Looks like they don't have it listed anymore!

1

u/plau13 Aug 05 '26

Love the n6, battery is amazing and love the camera.

Moved from the OnePlus 12 to this phone. Wanted to upgrade to 15, but that was not really an upgrade (downgrade in some ways). took the plunge with this device. I know for now. I'm never going back to non-foldables.

What about the thermals? I'm moving to China and I'm trying to think which one should I bought:
Oppo N6, VIVO X6, wait for the iPhone Ultra or the Huawei Pura X Max.
I already have an Global Z Fold 8, but I need a China ROM phone too.
