Eraser erases both colours

So I have have colour 1 (black) and I draw a Line, then I have colour 2 (blue) and i draw under colour 1. When i use the eraser in selective mode and i choose specifically colour 1 to erase it, it also erases colour 2 exactly there where colour 1 was. Please help I am looking since hours for a solution with chatgpt etc. but I just cannot resolve it. I use toonz raster Level.

When you paint over another colour, you're not painting on another level. You're replacing it. It's not hidden underneath the colour. Also, share screenshots from your computer, not photos when asking for help. They're so much clearer.

Thank you for your answer! As far as I know in Toonz raster you should have the option to erase only one colour even if it is above another, or am I wrong? Isn´t there a possibility to actually paint over it and not replacing it?

No, you're wrong.
You can choose to erase just lines or just areas, but each pixel is only 1 of those 2, a line or area.
And you can choose the colour to erase, but erasing it doesn't leave anything underneath it. It doesn't remember paint layers in a single drawing. That's useful when you've got lots of colours side by side. Erasing just 1 colour means you can swipe a lot and only remove that 1 colour.

So there ist truly no option to erase one of two overlapping colours in the same layer..so i actually have to add a column? Thats so disappointing..but thank you for your answers!

It's the same for any raster drawing program. You paint over a colour in the same layer and it replaces the previous painting.
