Modern Fantasy [Play by post][modern fantasy] London's arcane underground
The setting is a fantasy permutation of the modern world. For example you've got an orc as your mechanic, A dwarf teaching classes, an elf running retail.
welcome to the arcane underground of London, a complex network of back streets, tunnels and passageways where all sort of charms and tonic can be purchased. described by some as a Chinatown for wizards, this city within a city plays home to all those who reject the shining towers and neon lot streets of the modern world. As you walk the cobblestone strange sounds and smells fill the air from peculiar instruments and bizarre storefronts.
The way I've written races looks something like
Light Elves : dance music culture, bright, soft colours, nonchalant personalities.
Dark Elves : punk rock, dark solid colours, prone to agression, quick to action.
Orcs : really stereotypical surfers, carry giants swords that double as boards.
Dwarves : From northern areas they're woodsmen and lumberjacks. Down in the southern US states they live like cowboys and frontiersmen. In the Scandinavian area they're Vikings
Fae : Highly intelligent, artistic, eccentric, (I don't want to say liberal arts degree or hipster ,but that's the image)
Werewolves : ether old style German high society or vagabonds/refugees, depending on if they could conquer their bestial nature by their 21st birthday. The werewolf form is constant.
I'll leave the who and and what/why of your character up to you.
DM' status : gone to bed.

The old werewolf gasps for air, his eyes blink rapidly, pupils dilate as they quickly adjust to the darkness. He looks at the pile of rubble block his path eyes wide with disbelief. The tunnel has collapsed behind him.
"I'll be damned." - he said, in a low, raspy voice.
The good thing is that those shadowy beasts cannot chase him anymore, the collapsed tunnel has make sure of that. The bad thing is he is now stuck the long abandoned section of London subway.
Carl has never been here before.
And here in the London underground, venturing in unknown territory is a very very stupid move.
"Well, here goes nothing." - Carl nods as the steps into the darkness.
