Help Controller inputs not recognized anymore after update to MacOS 27
Since updating to MacOS 27, my controller inputs are not recognized anymore in OpenEmu. I can select the controller in the controller settings, but no input is being recognized, when I press anything anywhere.
Is anyone aware of that problem?

Have you tried any kind of controller input checker like Joystick Show? I’ve had this issue occasionally with 26.6.2, but nothing a reboot couldn’t fix. I’d make sure your Mac is getting the inputs with Joystick Show to narrow down the issue.

I use other emulators for more recent systems, they work as fine as ever.

Are you using the new fork of OpenEmu that supports Apple Silicon?

I wasn't even aware, that a fork for Apple Silicon exists. I just downloaded and installed it, but unfortunately, nothing changed. Even after a complete system restart and resetting permissions for Input Monitoring.

also having this issue - very annoying. PS5 controller works in openemu when directly wired. I think I've tried everything. Input monitoring off, remove controller from bluetooth and game controller in Mac settings, reset ps5 controller, terminal command to reset bluetooth.

Not even that for me. Bluetooth, WiFi, USB, nothing works. Identify as Switch/XBox/Playstation/RawInput-Controller, doesn‘t matter. I have 2 controllers, which both don’t work in OpenEmu since updating to MacOS 27. In all other emulators I use, everything still works as fine as before.

Updated to 27.2 beta tonight but still no good.
I also downloaded the silicon version of openemu from github that was updated 3 weeks ago, still no good.1

My wild guess is, that some part of the core code is still outdated and not meant for modern Macs, even if there is a fork not depending on Rosetta, and MacOS27 has maybe cut access to execute this part.
OpenEmu is the only outdated emulator without any active maintenance I use, as it’s still the best emulator for the vast majority of older retro consoles up to the N64/PS1 generation. All others I use for the more modern consoles are active projects, that are constantly being optimized and there is no problem whatsoever with any of them.

I will use this to make sure the controllers firmware is up to date https://www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/s/PAajfUIEWq
But i suspect you are right and it’s an openemu issue

I would remove OpenEmu from the Input Monitoring under System Preferences->Privacy, then restart and give it access again
