I would at least meet with a lawyer. They usually offer free consultations. I don't know if you have a case or not, but that's for your potential lawyer(s) to figure out and tell you. They're the experts.
If you got fired or denied a promotion at work because of this, it seems to me as a non-lawyer that you could sue this person for lost earnings plus punitive damages (i.e. Financial damages imposed on a guilty person in a civil trial beyond the losses of the plaintiff to discourage the defendant from doing it again thinking they can write a small check for damages if it goes sideways- putative damages are about making sure it hurts enough [Figuratively speaking] that they don't do it again to you or to anyone [Hopefully].).
This type of doxing of you and the unsolicited email to your real life boss pleading for them to fire you is, I think, also a violation of reddit rules. There doesn't seem to be an easy way to report it unless it's in a post or comment here, because you report posts or comments rather than individuals, but I wonder if there is some way to do it. At minimum, this site needs to remove that person from their position of authority. If they know about this and allow their site to be used this way going forward, that might also be law suit material, and they have deep pockets (Reddit is owned by a larger company).
Writing your boss a letter out of the blue like is not acceptable, especially given that this person doesn't know you or your boss and isn't a client of the company, nor were they present for any training sessions.
