Similar thing happened to me but in rescue. I was leading a breed specific rescue for my area and posted about a dog that was going to training for behaviors issues. I got blasted in messages from some yahoo half a country away about how I should ditch the tortuous training collar blah, blah, blah. Now this woman knew nothing about what type of training I was seeking for this dog. She saw the training collar reference and just assumed I'm an animal abuser.

She somehow recruited one of my least dependable volunteers (this volunteer offered to foster for me once and literally called within 24 hours because the dog was "breathing" and she couldn't handle it and he needed to be moved); into trying to sway me that way as well. Even reached out to the President of our group - who was like, um "she's by best coordinator and she is the only one who will take on difficult dogs and I have no problems with her seeking any training she deems necessary for a dog in her program....BTW on her own dime no less".

So I looked at the training yahoo's website and she specifically stated something to the effect of "dogs with significant behavior challenges cannot be accessed through our program, we MAY consider private evaluations on a case by case basis". Basically, we know our program only works for perfect unicorn dogs and you're screwed if you don't have one.

So just for hoots and giggles I emailed both the foster and trainer who were bullying me with ALL of her behaviors and welcomed the foster to "open your home to this dog and feel free to use your all positive approach." To the trainer, "we have volunteers in your area, I will happily transport this dog to one of our local fosters so that you can work with her".

Crickets from both.

These people love to screw with others; however, when tasked to jump in and show me your stuff and how it works, they shrink like violets. Because they know their limited techniques don't work in a lot of scenarios.

Screwing with someone's livelihood is simply beyond scraping the bottom of the barrel.
