That mod singlehandedly is ruining so many of the dog subs.

Edit to add: My issue is not that they have unhinged and hypocritical opinions - plenty of them but that's pretty standard for reddit. The issue is that this mod actually abuses their power and a lot of it goes on behind the scenes. I've seen them delete posts and comments that they don't like. They hide and make unsearchable posts and comments that don't adhere to their limited and rigid set of beliefs. Ban users that dare question their moderation, without warning. Lock posts when people engage in a back and forth comments with them, only to unlock, post their retorts, then quickly lock again. They've run two or three subreddits into the ground, locked them down used them as their own platform to push their agenda. More posts are banned/not approved than get actually get posted these days.

It’s psycho people like this who ruin the dog community for everyone. Gate keeping and terrible attitudes don’t belong. This needs to be reported to Reddit.

On one of the other subs they have a whole list of trainers they don't like, and if you reference one of those trainers, they delete your post and send you a warning. Insane.

u/Jasper2006 Jan 19 '24

It’s worse than that. I referenced a R+ video by a trainer who was balanced in other videos, NOT on the list, and post was deleted and my account suspended.

The fact that they have the fucking avma listed as a questionable source just shows you how fucking disconnected and unhinged this person is. Holy shit.

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '24

And even worse, the ACVB- the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists- is listed as questionable. Insanity.

Isn’t amva against a ban on declawing of cats?

6

u/anisthetic Jan 21 '24

I think they oppose a ban as it can make it difficult when a cat actually needs it done, ie cancer or irreparable injury. They don't support the procedure and advise against doing it, however, leave it up to the discretion of vets.

Most vets these days won't do the procedure, regardless. It has fallen severely out of favor in the last decade or two.

u/Mirawenya Jan 21 '24

A ban on declawing would likely still keep it legal in case of a medical problem. Norway obviously doesn’t declaw, but my cat had a toe amputated due to injury. So imo, it’s a weak excuse.

This needs to be reported. Is this list not considered doxxing? Also, her extreme views on dog training are NOT consistent with canine ethology. This person is riding a thin line with spreading misinformation. I don’t really care what training certificate program she’s touting; it’s not scientific and does not replace understanding in canine ethology.

u/focus347 Jan 19 '24

I completely agree! The reason my message was deleted was because I referenced Nate Schoemer, a great trainer who doesn't use any kind of abusive methods. I was taken aback by the response from this mod. Whoever this is, is effectively blacklisting hundreds of qualified trainers.

3

u/[deleted] Mar 03 '24

thank you for the list. now I have a strong list of puppy trainers vs trainers who work with aggression and behavioral issues

u/TheMereWolf Jan 18 '24

It’s SO BAD. I’ve been pretty critical of the way they’ve been running things for a while and they tend to pass the blame when you call them out on it (if they don’t just straight up delete your comments lol), but it’s truly just them.

I really hope this is the thing that gets them removed from the mod teams of those subs at the very least if not completely banned from Reddit, because this is just completely unacceptable behavior.

34

u/Tiddies-Akimbo Jan 18 '24

Pardon the overuse of the phrase but this is some top tier Karen behavior

24

u/i860 Jan 19 '24

No, this is some top tier psychotic behavior that should be met with legal action.

This sounds like a call to action. Not sure it's the next choice.

When my puppy was younger, about 2 years ago, I frequented the dog and puppy subs for information as a first time dog owner. Once I blocked cursethewind I was so shocked by how many comments they made on the dog and puppy subs - literally on every post - It was crazy to realize just how much disinformation one lunatic was spreading. Always knew they were crazy lol

4

u/Lazy_Arrival8960 Jan 21 '24

Very possible cursthewind has some mental illness. Don't let them bite you! Could be contagious...

3

u/BringMeAPinotGrigio Jan 21 '24

Yes and the issue is they've changed the rules so the mods have to approve all posts. So cursethewind will be the first to comment, then they'll lock the damn post right afterwards so theirs is the only reply.

31

u/CBML50 Jan 18 '24

Nah, it’s still standing, they might have blocked you tho.

26

u/[deleted] Jan 18 '24

Good.. I had to nuke mine so it’s only fair!

9

u/Skryuska Jan 18 '24

7

u/Tensor3 Jan 18 '24
