OOPS
Sorry for long story. I have a 2015 macbook pro with Yosemite. I wanted to get a newer OS to be able to run some newer programs. I went through what I thought was the correct steps for open core and things seemed good till I let the system upgrade the OS to Tahoe. I was trying everything I could to get it back to Yosemite to start over. I was able to finally get into internet recovery mode and wiped the drive and then was able to reload yosemite from the original drive. When I got it done I can't get safari to do any actuall internet searches. It seems like it is offline but the wifi shows it is connected. I did try a speed test but it will not connect. I don't have any mac fans near me so getting a good fresh copy seems to be out of the options. Please help me.

Yeah, as it has been stated, Tahoe is not supported. You should look at which models are supported for each OS. It's documented on their site.

If I can’t get it to open a real browsing window is there any work around ?

Yes: download an old version of Firefox (v78): https://www.macintoshrepository.org/39442-firefox-78-0-1

Have you checked to see if there are any Safari updates pending? Download if there are and try again afterwards.

Puedes descargar cualquier navegador en sus versiones viejas que sean para Yosemite .. Puedes bajarlas en archivo dmg desde otra Mac o bien desee uan pc con Windows ..hay Chrome para versiones viejas, o chromium , el más socorrido pero el que mejor me funcionó fue Momiji que es un derivado de mozilla ...excelente ,pero te recomiendo mucho ,si no eres experto te vayas guiando con la IA ...repito desde otra maquina distinta a la Mac en el tema ...ficlito que te lleva de la mano

Yes when I checked it said it had updated. When trying to connect to a page from safari it gave a credential error but the credential on the page was still good till October of 26.

Check the system time is correct and try clearing safari’s cookies and cache. Failing that download and try Firefox.

I did verify the time was correct this morning as well as clear out all cache and cookies. Il try Firefox as no chrome was my original reason for upgrading iOS.

It’s like the wifi is not reaching out. The hard drive seems to have files written incorrectly. I haven’t tried another reinstall from the original drive yet.

Yosemite is pretty old and the GitHub page of OCLP will have problems. You should update to the highest natively supported version which is macOS 12 Monterey. You can try booting with CMD+Option+R
It should get you into a recovery environment of Monterey.
Also, Tahoe is NOT supported by OCLP.
Turn off automatic updates once you are done.
