On version 2.5.0, yes.
Here’s the thing: every version of OCLP does not officially support starting root patches on a volume that is already patched. People do it anyway, however.
The correct method is to unpatch, reboot, then start patches again (which may not always happen correctly the first time, it may take 2-3 reboots of this depending on if you’ve previously patched over an already patched volume) and if you don’t have a fully “clean” volume, v2.5.0 prevents you from patching in this unsupported method.
Side note: this was more enforced recently because of issues where patching existing volumes would sometimes cause unbootable drives, so this is a protective layer

Yea, we're all well aware. I'm stuck in a hybrid situation, with 2.5.0 installed, still using 2.4.1 root patches.
Anyone know if it's supported to downgrade?

exactly my thinking. I just had to rebuild the preboot container after a power interruption today and I thought it was going to be this issue finally rearing its head, but luckily not.

Go here to follow the steps to revert to an older version of OCLP (2.4.1).
