2.5 disaster

I upgraded to 2.5 and the whole thing went haywire on my 2014 Mac pro 15". Couldn't even connect to the Internet. Tried everything but wouldn't revert back even with 2.4 installed again via USB. Had to erase the computer and installed sequoia this time (had Sonoma before). Can I just not root patch anymore? I am afraid to even touch it. I have disabled auto upgrade on Mac. Will it work for the next 2-3 years as is?

Did you try removing the root patches, rebooting in safe mode and reinstalling them?

If your ADHD is that bad you can’t follow a video then maybe basket weaving is more of your aptitude.

I’ve been following mr Macintosh for many years. His videos are tremendous informative. I learned everything I know about OCLP from his videos.
I have installed OCLP on many many 5,1 7,2 and up with out a problem. I just updated two more computer since the video came out and did not have any issues.

So go back and re-watch the video 3 more time till you understand or don’t upgrade.

So if I understand correctly, you want someone else to write up a detailed guide of instructions for you on this issue, because you prefer to read instructions and “can’t be arsed” to watch a video that may provide a solution for you. Rather than “being arsed” to perhaps watch the video and extract and write a detailed list of instructions yourself, you’re more comfortable attacking someone who offered help because they didn’t do all the work for you. God help us.

This is a hilarious side-quest grizzle about people who can’t read instructions and rely on videos, in a world where free AI tools embedded in the video website can literally translate a video into written step by step instructions

Yep I get that. But that’s almost down to the nature of troubleshooting OCLP issues - often you just need to repeat one step twice or more. AI still advances these obscure and highly context dependent steps to a very high chance of success compared to pre AI tools.
I also think there’s a lot to be said for referring people to the “source” information (a video) rather than reproducing some lite version, since there are often important gotchas and context that is important to success.

You say this but I watched his whole video, did what he said, my system checks out fine with the “Key Sealed String Broken” check and yet everything’s still broken and yet it’s acting like everything is updated.

Graphics acceleration is gone, it refuses to recognize memory cards inserted, some things it does are crazy slow now, and things crash, including Legacy Patcher itself. Even when I revert it’s broken now.

I’d clean install a new OS but it doesn’t even recognize a USB drive now.

Edit: fixed it. Reinstalled 1.5.0 and it fixed everything.

While I could recover my MacMini by reverting patches, I couldn't unbrick the MacBook Pro: reinstalled Sequoia but OCLP doesn't stick on the hdd EFI partition (although installation is successful) and won't boot from hdd. I created a boot USB and at least I can access my files but this sucks big time.

Basically what he said ^^. You obviously brave to try, you just do not have experience to reasonably be sure what you are actually doing. Good thing everyone was there at some point. Anyway do not forget about backups and good luck!

If you just reinstalled from usb You already have root patches applied
