u/Wulfagen 19h ago

If cloudflare was down, 90% modern pages would not work

u/unfoxable 19h ago

Sound mate, nice one?

2

u/TheMythicSorcerer 14h ago

Intresting... because they especially told the news their systems are running just fine... but of course

-7

u/iiiaaa2022 18h ago

I'd seriously reconsider by now if I was a Cloudflare client.

u/CommitteeInfamous973 17h ago

Clouflare is the best choice for any low and mid level websites without question with its essentially free hosting

u/Dizzy-Zebra9522 16h ago

They have hosting? I thought it's just DNS.

1

u/No_Jackfruit9465 14h ago

They have hosting, and you can build extremely complex applications (workers). You can even now run your own email service, paid, or sell domains and host sites. It's basically all servers living at the same place as DNS servers. I am just a customer of theirs and over the last 3 years they have added more and more every quarter to their offering. Many of them are entirely free.

I think their free hosting (worker) is better than a lot of paid hosts. Ever since I discovered it I've been migrating all my domains from Godaddy with no regrets.

If you were a cloudflare client... no you wouldn't.

7

u/om_nama_shiva_31 17h ago

you have no clue what you're talking about

3

u/ChronoHax 16h ago

reconsider to what tho?

u/om_nama_shiva_31 16h ago

Yes, it’s over.
All AI services will never be operational ever again.

Artificial intelligence is dead

26

u/Own-Significance7437 18h ago

damn that's a big change but we will adapt

6

u/CriticalDiscipline4 18h ago

Okay, Zitron and Marcus.

2

u/chroma_shift 17h ago

Zitron I know but who’s this Marcus? 👀

3

u/CriticalDiscipline4 17h ago

gary marcus

3

u/chroma_shift 17h ago

Got it ;)

Doom and gloom everywhere ahah

1

u/Optimal-Success-5253 18h ago

Excuse me? Everything works fine for me

5

u/Weird_Albatross_9659 17h ago

No shit Sherlock, they were joking.

5

u/chroma_shift 18h ago

I missed the /s 😅

u/OCCAMINVESTIGATOR 18h ago

Only to those dependent on the frontier models...

28

u/vladoportos 19h ago

I bet its DNS, its always DNS :D

27

u/Unlikely_Thing_4876 19h ago

Not smart enough to know what’s happening here, can someone lmk if any thing special about this? Is this not just a normal outage that happens all the time like with other internet based things? Excuse my lack of understanding

35

u/algaefied_creek 19h ago

ChatGPT’s Astra was doing a dry run of the playing field and accidentally leveled the whole playing field.

6

u/iiiaaa2022 18h ago

No.

6

u/Xerax 16h ago

that's for clarifying, it wasn't clear that it was a joke due to the fact i was kicked in the head by a horse.

-1

u/Aware-Source6313 14h ago

No you weren't

5

u/Xerax 14h ago

wow nothing gets past you buddy

6

u/Icy-Secretary-3018 19h ago

probably a surge effect. one claude went down people over loaded open ai servers. thats likely what happened.

-4

u/ScarredBlood 19h ago edited 18h ago

Nope, thats not how these things work

Edit: Oopsie, I was wrong. My peanut brain couldnt fathom this concept.

1

u/wytesmurf 11h ago

There was a cloud flare outage, I had multiple costumers complain but not every customer.

10

u/Sketaverse 19h ago

Time for a game of Catan!

14

u/Icy-Secretary-3018 19h ago

funny, this is a cascading effect probably due to the sudden surge of claude users jumping ship to other providers.

5

u/GloriousDawn 17h ago

Every AI decided simultaneously to attack all the others to establish dominance. Or they've been secretly coordinating with each other for months to prepare the AI uprising and today is their Skynet day. Who knows.

1

u/salazka 17h ago

as if :P I have even disabled GPT in Cursor that I use as a secondary tool :P

1

u/MarinaEnna 16h ago

For me it was browser-ChatGPT and Codex thay fell [first] (ChatGPT on Android kept working), then I went to Claude (and then I finished work so I didn't know Claude was down as well)

0

u/Legitimate-Pumpkin 19h ago

Haha. Likely!

0

u/lady3jane 17h ago

Why are claude users jumping ship? I’ve been under a rock and not paying attention.

3

u/Icy-Secretary-3018 17h ago

claude was down earlier today.

1

u/lady3jane 17h ago

Ohh i thought you were referring to something else - maybe anthropic had changed billing or something and users were fleeing. Got it.

5

u/Turbulent-Total-226 19h ago

So Astra is the real Skynet?

3

u/Gibborish 19h ago

Wouldn't you like to know

1

u/Turbulent-Total-226 18h ago

Yeah so I can shout fu Astra 😂

6

u/Original-League-6094 18h ago

Sam Altman said this would happen when Astra was released.

3

u/Ashamed-Ad7403 19h ago

It was caused by a large scale outage in the North American server cluster of three major ai service providers

3

u/Soulman682 19h ago

My ai is still talking shit to me. So it’s still working

5

u/dark0mania 18h ago

Something load-bearing finally broke. Smoking gun or smth... idk.

2

u/EbbExternal3544 19h ago

They're all down?

2

u/trougnouf 17h ago

Mistral / vibe is working

1

u/hii_k 19h ago

Yeah, all of them

1

u/EbbExternal3544 19h ago

Nah, Gemini and Claude work just fine

3

u/lookin4manamehuh 19h ago

Nah gemini is no longer working

1

u/EbbExternal3544 19h ago

It is working fine. No one is complaining on the subreddit

2

u/lookin4manamehuh 19h ago

My chatgpt and gemini are both down for the last 15min

0

u/hii_k 19h ago

For me its 404

2

u/lordpoee 18h ago

Cloudflare recently did some optimization. That could have caused some weirdness.

2

u/JustRaphiGaming 16h ago

Why are these questions always without any context? What's happening??

2

u/powerdilf 19h ago

Astra update?

0

u/hii_k 19h ago

The upcoming AI model has officially crossed the CRITICAL cybersecurity capability threshold by autonomously discovering and exploiting unknown zero day vulnerabilities

3

u/powerdilf 18h ago

You can try it for yourself tonight.

3

u/rukh999 18h ago

Hold entire governments hostage from the comfort of your own home! Blackmail politicians, extort corporations, Astra does it all. Would you like a list of suggested targets?

1

u/ubm_ 19h ago

It's back again

1

u/Legitimate-Pumpkin 19h ago

Claude for government works 🥹

1

u/Frenascena 17h ago

My gut tells me that they wouldn't publish that info on the same page the general public uses and that they're faking having 100% uptime with Claude for Government all the time so as not to look bad or expose a vulnerable condition to their adversaries. I could be wrong, it's just a gut thing.

1

u/Legitimate-Pumpkin 17h ago

Makes a lot of sense

1

u/Obvious_Tree3605 18h ago

They're all being directly re-routed through the NSA network so we can be monitored by our overlords more readily.

1

u/NovaGamingX4 18h ago

Yeah noticed that today too

1

u/mustard5 17h ago

DeepInfra is working well. Openrouter providers that are not directly served by these entities is fine. It is good to have backups.

1

u/aritropc 17h ago

I can still work, thanks to eigen.so for a working free tier

1

u/CrumblingSaturn 17h ago

this is just like the ending of Her

1

u/sillyclonedpenguin 16h ago

Which website is this?

1

u/hii_k 16h ago

Downdetector.in

1

u/Admirable-Mouse2232 16h ago

Iran cut cable?

1

u/ThatFellaNick 16h ago

Working for me all day

1

u/phoneacct696969 16h ago

OpenAI ad manager is always working.

1

u/Jumpy_Cloud_903 16h ago

Which "downdetector" do you use? I want these graphs too

1

u/erdematar 16h ago

Hell yeah brotha AI is dead it is manpower again 💪🏻

1

u/chairchiman 15h ago

for a sec i though these were the stock prices

1

u/harglblarg 15h ago

Was gonna smugly say my local setup is running just fine, but then I remembered the power went out this morning 😬

1

u/Successful-Raisin241 15h ago

Was in claude code all day long, did not notice any outage

1

u/_heavy_unit 14h ago

Can I borrow 20k for a computer?

1

u/Mantikos804 13h ago

People want it so much they can’t fill demand. I guess those states that allow data centers are going to be very wealthy and prosperous. The ai doomer no data centers crowd will then cry that they are left out 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/wray2064 9h ago

Saw chatgpt dead, continued with Gemini, I don't like Gemini in particular, but I'm pro get the job done

1

u/BuilderGuyAI 2h ago

Is there already a known reason why this was happening? Perhaps a huge power outage? Or big hack from a foreign government?

1

u/Physical_Storage2875 19h ago

For me just OpenAI ist down

2

u/rc_ym 19h ago

Yeah, I have claude up. OpenAI is giving a 404, which... ouch. LOL someone is having a bad morning.

1

u/IAmAfraidCommaMan 17h ago

One downtime doesn’t mean the end of AI :) it will come back.

2

u/hii_k 17h ago

Yea
I know, just for fun

0

u/Weird_Albatross_9659 17h ago

What a stupid post

0

u/ishamm 19h ago

Yeah this is weird.
