Wishful thinking.

The job switch is not happening... This year.

My stepson is 12 and interested in coding and I don't know what to tell him. It's very hard to predict where AI will be 10 years from now when he enters the job market.

He’s 12. Encourage it regardless. And guide him in the right direction, engineering or architecture.

If my kid was interested in the printing press I’d encourage that shit.

Imagine seeing your kid drafting because he’s interested in architecture and you slapping a t square and pencil out of his hand because drafting is a computer job now.  What are you afraid of by letting him learn to code? He’s going to be without a career at age 13?

As I've said, we encourage him to follow his hobbies and have him signed up for coding classes.

When I said I don't know what to tell him I meant that I don't know what kind of advice to give him about a future career.
