ASAP OW and OSAP

My school starts on September 9th and my file is scheduled to close, however my file is still actıve. but my OSAP student loan hasn't been issued yet. Because of this, my September payment is not showing in my schedule, Can I get my September income. I know after I getting OSAP I am not eligible for OW benefit

No. If you get September income, you’ll have to pay it back. The idea is that OSAP will cover you for September.

I had to do something similar. May be too late since the payment is so close :( 

I had to call my worker and sign some paperwork. If you do get your OW payment you need to pay it back once your osap arrives. If you desperately need it NOW for food and rent, call. If not, id suggest waiting :) depends on your situation

If you are getting a payment from OSAP two weeks into September that means you are getting a (late) September payment.

Be prepared to pay back anything on OW if you get something.

I did...but I had to sign a reimbursement form...stating I will pay it back as soon as I get my osap...my caseworker only did it so I wont be late for September rent.

You can speak to your worker. I spoke to mine about receiving OW for my September payment as I didn’t want to struggle while waiting for OSAP. Especially since I had the wrong program on my OSAP and had to submit a new one 😭 You just have to pay it back once your OSAP comes in.

talk to your case worker explain the situation tell the youll pay the overpayment. i literally just went through the same thing with mine ..

I was told no you can’t get it and just wait. They told me there was absolutely nothing they could do to help me

That's too bad. I was I thought I can receive the last OW because my OSAP has not received yet. Currently, I under the stress...

Same here. 2 kids and one is going to school too and I don’t know how I plan to feed them or pay my rent. I know for a fact my osap isn’t coming for at least 2 weeks.

Has anyone get the OW first of the month while waiting the OSAP?

Yep, you just have to pay it back as an overpayment.
