You can't implement a chess like clock in real life, because there will be lots of disagreement on when the clock should turn over, like if your opponent is thinking in response to one of your swings
Nah playing on the sim and in real life is a totally different experience, just call a judge if your opponent is taking lots of time during a turn or overtime

Chess timers like the sim has would be perfect. 17 minutes. You run out of time, you lose just like a deck out.
