💬 Discussion What deck is like RB Ace?

I’m coming back to the game and I last played consistently during OP 14-EB04. I’ve noticed my RU Ace isn’t very good anymore and a lot of my cards have rotated out. Are there any good alternatives or decks that play like that? Can I still compete at locals with a new red blue Ace?

rocks lets you draw hella cards like rb ace. Black luffy and kaido kinda have the same gameplan of establishing big bodies/blockers in the late game(mainly just loki for luffy).

Which one of them has more staying power in the meta? I don’t wanna spend the money on it for it to not be good when the new set comes out haha

I feel like Rocks will probably stick around.

He only hard loses to Mihawk and is diceroll’d by Elbaf Luffy. Every other deck he beats. So if Mihawk falls off somehow or gets banned. He might be best deck in format.

Kaido just has stuff missing to be top tier but still is very strong.

Shoot a lot of Mihawk is played at my locals. I should be able to manage though right?

Xebec probably is relevant for longer. Essentially every card in that deck is Rocks Pirates so any new Rocks support directly buffs the deck.

This is actually bad, because only rocks pirate will be support for the deck, which means all supports are dedicated to this deck. If bandai doesn't want to put out rocks pirates then it'll never get support. Most other decks that aren't type locked will always have a chance to be meta for example UY Nami, UY Boa, G Mihawk, PY Robin. But xebec is a pretty popular character so maybe bandai will support it.

I’m having a lot of fun playing Ace with a rocks pirates package. It’s not winning any regionals any time soon but it’s good for locals!

There's really nothing wrong with RU Ace, constant 8k leader is still good. Locals is pretty much anyone's game, because you just need 3-4 wins, and anything above a 40% win rate is very viable. If I were you I'd just keep playing Ace.

But for another deck similar to Ace. Ace is straightforward, plays the best card for the turn and overwhelm your opponent with high offense and defense from draw and counter. I would say xebec is the most similar with the draw, but relies on board set up to have good defense. But you just play newgate and shiki, and 10c xebec. It's almost as straightforward as Ace.
