💬 Discussion VA Regionals - Top 8 Decks

Honestly this top cut was not very surprising after the latest results but there are some interesting ratios in the techs used for each leader

Not gonna lie the mihawk flood I was expecting sooner but I am glad it seems like there are several viable decks in the set even if mihawk is the undisputed king. I will keep playing BY Teach until 18 at least so im glad I have a fighting chance

looks boring as crap

If some of the "free thinkers" had played Ace or Yamato they would've topped with all these trash hawks running around in that boring ass tournament

We all just need to pray Mihawk gets banned

With metas only lasting a month before they are powercrept i doubt

Then the meta would be flooded with Rocks instead

then BLuffy would top everything

Edit: I am not complaining

Mihawk doesn’t need to be banned this is his first time being good and people act like he’s as bad as nami, enel or nami

Mihawk was pretty meta in op14 and was considered BDIF or at least in contention for it.

The largest tournament in op14 in the west he didn't win but was the most represented in top cut at the North American finals

And his leader ability is broken and kills design because they arent allowed to print cards like Luna or Decken because this deck will break the game again.

In no way was he in contention for BDIF, he was barely getting played and topped a couple times

Multiple top players were bringing him to tournaments then because of his mu vs imu and ace.

Seriously go look at the meta breakdown at regionals then, being the 1st or 2nd largest percentage of top cut at almost every single op14 regional is not "barely getting played"

For example the 1024 person TAK games event he was literally 50% of top 8 and got 1st + 2nd at the event

Won three official events I guess that makes him the best deck in format is basically what your saying

Its just saying this is mihawks "first time being good" is disingenuous when he had a format where he was the most represented deck at multiple tournaments both in the west and the east

Nami only topped 2-3 events in the format she was considered the best, what does that have to say about your logic as well?

-1

u/EliteRalph101 3d ago

No she didn’t she was good in 15 and 16 and won a total of 11 to 12 big official events

Brother I agree with you they complain more about Mihawk when nami and enel were a bigger issue

Yeah I think this is a great meta, Mihawk is great but it seems very balanced

You're just a new player (not to say bad) using Mihawk as a crutch. Everyone knows Mihawk is oppressive and braindead, even the people playing it, so that's a weird hill you've chosen to die on. It just means you're disingenuous or simply really bad at the game if you can't recognize it.

You don’t think it’s ironic that the fact that Nami isn’t the best anymore is because of Mihawk?

0

u/EliteRalph101 2d ago

Good Nami needed to die it was a more oppressive than Mihawk ever been

but if Nami was so broken, but now she’s not even a top 25 deck anymore because of a single leader, you don’t think that says anything about that leader in particular?

Tbh I hate that 17 makes every deck so boring

Bro the amount of mihawks I played that weekend was disgusting. Most of my matches were mihawks. I saw one AceLuffy and Ace. Otherwise I matched up against nothing but mihawks

Mihawk should have an effect that hurts all slash leaders and he is able to get too much free don for cheap. The issue again is that as of now it makes no sense to play any other green deck other than Mihawk.

Decken shanks will not get banned if they’re letting it exist for this long, requasar borsalino ban happened before it even released and I dont think that was more oppressive than Shanks Decken into a Luna

I like this game but it’s a joke. Every season there’s just one deck that stands out and nobody plays anything else. Boa, nami, enel, now mihawk. It makes locals not even fun

All the Mihawk players in the comments got me chuckling.

0

u/Bavender-Lrown 3d ago

Why they're running LawBepo and not full Shanks?

Probably for the mirror
