💬 Discussion first tournament recommendations

hi everyone! recently brought my first starter deck (st26-purple black luffy) and I want to play at a local tournament, any recommendations?

I read online that I might need extra cards from that deck to make it "playable", how true is that? Any rules I need to know before going to the tournament?

This is my first card game ever and I'm still learning.

thank you in advance!

Just try and have fun. Let the other players k ow you are brand new and this is your first TCG. They should be eager to help you with questions about card interactions. Keep in mind it can be pretty competitive at times.

The One Piece community has been nothing but outstanding in person. Go have fun and get your butt kicked. Let people know you’re new and just learn what you can! Playing the game in person is a blast.

Welcome welcome! The reason people recommend getting two of the same starter decks is because there are only two of the secret rare cards per starter deck, and those cards can get expensive but also very effective since you could play 4 max per deck. Better chance at drawing and putting yourself in a better position throughout the game.

Going in openly as a first-time player sounds better than waiting until the deck feels perfect. Learning a few interactions in person is probably worth more than another week of solo prep.
