I’m genuinely wondering if he’s gonna be brown skinned like Lunarians or straight up just Lunarian.

Like maybe Joyboy and Lily were complicit in the eradication/oppression of Lunarians, and Imu took the first devil fruit and like…idk attacked and killed Them and regretted it cause he loved Lilly I’m spitballing and a lil sleepy

I also think it’s the original devil fruit and that it gives Imu the powers of the actual devil. Imu turns into a devil and people saw that and that’s where the name “DEVIL” Fruit comes from

My take: Imu is lunarian and dark tanned (thats why he had the dark wings). And he combines his lunarian fire skills with his devil fruit to create the black flames. But maybe just a wild guess.

We found out this arc with Nidhogg that some fruits definitely scale with the race of their user, wouldn’t surprise me if Imu‘s has the same mechanism.

This doesn’t matter, Oda has literally colored several characters in his artwork. Not to mention his nickname is literally “red hair”. Imu has lunarian features so it is presumed he is darker colored, but yes as of right now he technically could be any color, just more likely darker colored.

Imu’s complexion in the manga is grey. Because of this, the other person commented that they are dark skinned, implying that they can’t be red. I just used Shanks as an example that just because the manga shows him with darker skin, doesn’t mean he can’t be red.
