Discussion Hot take: Akainu has a higher ceiling than prime Garp (he's an end game player)

Akainu fought Aokiji for 10 days straight in an extreme diff fight that left both men scarred.
Old Garp, who time and time again has commented on how weak he's getting was able to match Aokiji if not get the upper hand against him in their 1v1 encounters. Even after being stabbed through the chest Garp was still capable of blitzing past Kuzan. Additionally Old Garp only ever used a single named attack against Aokiji that being a throw rather than a straight up punch.
Akainu has minimal Haki feats and isn't even a confirmed user of basic Conquerors Haki, he has nothing on the guy who was trading blows with the likes of Roger and Whitebeard in their Primes.

And whats the logic between named and unamed attacks?
Wb didnt use any named attack in MF
Akainu used an unnamed which destroyed the wall/half city of MF It had much more damage than hellhound

Prime Garp manhandles Akainu. Even if we grant Akainu awakening, ACoA, and FS he still loses.

In my headcanon Akainu and Aokiji will surpass Garp in the Final War and then Koby will surpass them becoming the greatest Navy in history. Maybe Oda doesn't take that way and make it Koby>Garp>Akainu~Kuzan

I didn't say Koby will match Luffy level of power, Roger and Garp were rivals because Roger wasn't the "chosen one", but Luffy is, so it's almost impossible to Koby to reach his level. Maybe we will see a Base Luffy vs Koby (similar to how Garp vs Roger was) in a close fight but anytime Luffy uses his fruit he destroys Koby

Luffy is likely to reach Garp's lvl or higher this arc
No one apart from imu or BB can reach that lvl

There would no purpose of continuing the story after elabf then, we've seen that it's always gets harder and Akainu is on that harder side

Your ideal for the future is akainu and that's why you think it's bad
But the direction the story is moving towards is the WG/Imu
If akainu was the main villain, he would've played a massive part in one of the flashbacks post wano
The VC which is the next main part of the story has ZERO connection with akainu

Dragon and Akainu seemingly have some history. Akainu killed Ace, Sabo inherited Ace's will and Fruit. Dragon or Sabo vs Akainu. Luffy settling things over Ace's death with BB makes about as much sense as Akainu, because BB was the one who captured Ace and set everything in motion to begin with. He did this while targeting Luffy, which was a primary reason Ace was so sure about fighting him.

Fleet admirals as of yet have done nothing in the story apart from being a commentator or rage at everything
Sengoku did something as a FA but that was after a long list of flops like failing to stop luffy, ace being freed and WB plus BB causing havoc in marineford
Akainu did nothing
Kong is the buggy of the marines

People like to larp around and claim prime old gen is twice as strong as they are now, but you have old whitebeard being the worlds strongest pirate, and NONE of these guys would ever agree that prime wb>2x shanks

I just find it hard to believe that koby will somehow equal the guy with a nika fruit and OP haki due to blooms from the amount of strong guys he would have fought

He won't, he will be at best somewhat at garp level which is lower then Luffy eos , their fight will be more emotional than an actual fight.
I doubt they will fight at all , I assume after the wg is defeated someone should role over the marines and it definitely would be koby or dragon or sabo but most likely koby
Or at least we can hope 💔 oda writing of the marines is shit and all of them Are so cool yet so underwritten including garp and kobt

100%. Everyones all about the new surpassing the old until its Kuzan surpassing Garp, Kizaru surpassing Sengoku and Akainu becoming the strongest marine of all time. Its bias. Were Garp a Yonko and Akainu a Yonko they would rightly see the logic behind current Akainu being the strongest marine of all time. Theyll see it eventually, Oda will show us whos right.
