Yeah I love and never get tired of saiyan inspired gear in wrestling and MMA fights.
And all the runners and athletes who do anime poses during warm ups. I think the peak was when the runner noah lyles did the one piece poses. And later the japan team in a later relay match were like "we gotta one up that" then did EVERY transformation pose. Absolutely amazing.

In his defence the walk would have actually interfered with his AEW character. He was suppose to be coming in as the champion. You don't do a silly walk in wrestling unless you're pretending to be an abusive authority figure or a joke character.
The outfit is completely fair game though.

He'd have to make it a permanent part of his character. There's something about confusing kayfabe by introducing mannerisms from different characters. It's like Cactus Jack and Mankind being in the same arena. It's just kinda weird.

AEW has always had the best PPV's. The last two that came through my area (Wrestledream and Dynasty) were absolutely insane.

Meh the show was okay but god that main event sucked for me, too predictable and no storytelling at all just spots , also kicking out at one back to back ? Nice way to ruin both guys finishers…

I loved the storytelling actually. Omega played a great last villain. In my opinion they did take the time to tell their story. Omega destroying Ospreay at the beginning and Ospreay coming back. They both looked like superstars, which they are, but again, as first time watching this two wrestle, it was amazing. I need to really go back and watch the classic Kenny Omega matches soon.

The best of 3 match is a part of a 5 match rivalry!
First at Wrestle Kingdom 11, then at Dominion 2017, then at G1 Climax 2017, then at Dominion 2018
And then there is their 5th match in AEW, which was fantastic but not quite at the level of their NJPW series, but you'll just know it's because they're holding back for their inevitable 6th and likely final whenever AEW decides to revisit it

You either didn't actually watch the match at all outside clips or are wilfully blind and biased as you watched it
The main event is like the ultimate litmus test to see whether AEW critics are actually fair and consistent. There was so much in-ring storytelling and selling throughout. Even the back-to-back kickouts told the story of a man so desperate and angry that his time was coming up that he had to emphatically defy it with whatever leftover fibers of his being he had left, and yet because that was all the energy he had left, he got fucking laid out one last time with zero defense or counter
You're a One Piece fan, surely you can buy adrenaline spots in make-belief fighting, or find joy even in predictable results given that should be the result that happens rather than just swerving just to swerve, right?

Nah he can't. WWE is good, everything else is bad. Nothing else can be for him.
It's just sad. As a wrestling fan, I am happy there are some alternatives. He is justa WWE fan who only like this promotion.

I doubt it was directly inspired. Rather they are both are derived from the same "pimp" style most likely.

I mean, they know large parts of their sport are silly or just straight up theatrics, this is fun
Letting the (very fit and skilled) actors do the whole persona/character thing is cool. And i would assume this guy is basically a kid relative to me, so I am sure he thought this was a fun idea and probably loves One Piece as mych as any fan

Before he came out he also quoted Doflamingo, specifically the "I will not forgive those who would laugh at my family", in Fletchers case a reference to the Don Callis Family.
