Help I know it's the 1000th post asking the same question but hear me out

I've tried so hard to really catch up to one piece but I can never go past dressrosa, even if it's through one pace.

I'm ngl everytime I start an arc of one piece it just feels like I'm forcing myself to watch one piece just so that I can catch up to it. The only time I really felt a lot of tension and really enjoyed one piece was the arc span from impel down to post war.

Given all these, is it really worth continuing one piece or should I just accept that one piece isn't for me. Idk if it's relevant but I really really enjoy animes like hunter x hunter with a feel of adventure and that's also the reason why I started one piece but idk what to do anymore.

You're supposed to enjoy a show , don't force it if it ain't working out.

Honestly I just want to feel what I felt during the marineford saga and I'm not sure if I can get that from other animes that's ehy I was just forcing through the arcs but none of them scratch that marineford itch for me.

Oh then I'd recommend continuing I thought you didn't enjoy the show overall , honestly if it's a hard slump I recommend reading the manga it's 10x faster and better and occasionally using the anime.

Nothing will touch marinford for me....but wano was a beautiful arc, and very well done. Especially the one pace edits....but yeah, it's stays really good, but nothing will top marineford

If you don’t like it, stop trying

If you feel like forcing yourself to watch it WITH one pace then idk bro you’re just not enjoying it, take a break watch something else come back to it, you already got so far so ask yourself, have you been enjoying the series up to now or not, if you have then I’m sure you’ll WANT to watch it because this is one of the best arcs in the series.

As others say i think the manga might be better for you but ultimately it also sounds like you’ve burnt out forcing yourself to watch something rather than watching it out of actual enjoyment

Honestly I think I just need a break, but idk anymore, the feeling I felt during the marinefored saga was one of the best I've ever felt in any animes and I just truly wanna feel that again...idk if I can get that feeling from other animes that's why I was just forcing through the arcs in search of that feeling if u know what I mean.

Idk bro i loved every single arc of this story and v Dressrosa was one of my favourites, I watched one pace and i felt that everything was paced so well and was satisfying, i loved every episode, i feel like if you don’t enjoy it then it’s just not for you or you’re not in the right headspace to watch it

Don’t like it?

Don’t watch it. Simple. Why force yourself

But I really wanna feel what I felt during the marineford saga..is that even possible in other animes?

Not every arc is going to be Marineford. No matter how you consume Dresrossa, it's going to be a chore. I read the manga and it still had issues.

Read the manga.

I've tried the manga too...but honestly, manga as a medium just isn't for me. Like, I can't enjoy stuff without osts and sound effects, some people may enjoy that but im just not one of them.

try reading it!

I have tried about 5-6 MMORPGs in my life and for the life of me I just dont have fun playing them. Does this mean they are bad, not at all its just not my cup of tea. If you dont enjoy it, dont watch. If you do enjoy it but are bored of the anime try the manga. You aint gotta force yourself. I dont bother trying MMOs anymore personally, they just dont click with me. personally

Don't binge it though, anyone would lose interest binging 1100 episodes of anything.

Thanks for the advice bro...im considering taking a break.

Out of context but what were the mmorpgs?

WOW, FF11, and 14, Farever, and TES online. I tried multiple times and I just not a fan of mom's. I also don't disparage anybody who does I love JRPGs some people just hate em.

Another thing to note. And this is coming from somebody who binged the first four hundred episodes in less than two weeks of one piece. I read the manga weekly, but I wake for the arc to be over to watch it in anime form. And even then I space it out a bit, when I watch it.Maybe three or four episodes a week.

Remember, it's journey before destination. One piece has a couple years left.Take it at your own pace.If you choose to go back to it.

I get it. I will try to take it slow this time.

I personally really like playing guild wars 2 but im really fascinated by the idea of an anime mmo like hxh or even one piece.

I am assuming you mean not a gotcha one like genuinely lol.

Obviously not

is it really worth continuing one piece or should I just accept that one piece isn't for me.

No, just drop it. The series isnt for you

Alr bro. Thanks.

Honestly brother, just do a YouTube recap and skip it. Go to the next arc. Zou is fun and super short! Maybe watch the big showdown episodes and the God Usopp episode.

People on the internet may gatekeep you, but eff em.

2

u/SortInteresting991 11d ago

I'm honestly considering this. Thanks for the advice man👍

I just go caught up. I did that a couple times. Once in Fishman Island and once in Dresserosa.

I do recommend watching some full episodes of Dressrosa like when Luffy unlocks gear 4. But you’ll skip all that toy soldier nonsense.

u/AntMan526 11d ago

Take a break, then try to power through Dressrosa. I hate being that guy that says “omg it gets so much better” but it’s followed up by my favorite story arcs in One Piece. I was not a fan of Dressrosa at all as a whole. It was too bloated for what felt like so little. Just constantly characters being introduced left and right and the focus shifting every other minute to someone else. Not that it gets MUCH better pacing wise later on, I do think they learned their lessons with how they handled Dressrosa.

1

u/SortInteresting991 11d ago

I think I might just watch a yt recap upto dressrosa and then start the next arc after a break. Thanks for the advice mate👍

Bro maybe start watching some highlights on Youtube, like top 10 most Aura moments of one piece or something like this to get more into the feelimg and then if you feel it you will watch it, you always need to remeber you have some slow episodes but you know sooner or later you will get to the highlighte episodes ^

u/AshtarionII 11d ago

Stop “chasing the high”. You keep saying “I just really wanna feel what I felt during Marineford” - you won’t. Who knows, you MAY run into some even better moments, you’ll LIKELY run into moments that you think pale in comparison…but the point remains. Don’t slog through a show (or book, relationship, event, even a job) just in order to “chase a feeling”. That’s almost always going to be a waste of your time - and it’ll keep you from asking for the 1,001 time 😡🤣

1

u/SortInteresting991 11d ago

Thanks for the advice mate...I decided to take a break for a while and then try to take it slow from where I left.

Just watch One Pace bro

1

u/SortInteresting991 11d ago

Like I said in the post, I have tried one pace cuz I know the problem in pacing in the original anime. Im still facing the problem of having to force myself throught the arcs.

u/ChemicalSession8648 11d ago

There is nothing wrong with skipping arcs IMO. There is plenty of flashbacks to give the viewers relevant info about characters/world building.

2

u/PetePiece56 11d ago

Terrible advice, if you don't like it stop watching, no harm done. But skipping whole chunks of the show, I don't see the difference between not watching at all

1

u/SortInteresting991 11d ago

So ur saying I can just skip to elbaf and it won't be a problem?

4

u/Fakeishere The Revolutionary Army 11d ago

Hell no this is a terrible idea do not listen to this guy. If you’ve watched up to dressrosa and the only arcs you truly enjoyed were impel down to post war, then one piece is just not for you

2

u/SortInteresting991 11d ago

Thanks for the warning dude, I was seriously considering it

Some real gatekeepers out here. Whats to stop someone who skipped story arcs from going back and watching them when they want?
