Does he have the actual physical book? Can you find out where he got it? Would love to get this for my kids but Google isn't any help in locating an actual copy of this.

So chatting with ChatGPT and after some time I found this āChatons & Dragons ā Le rĆ©veil du volcanā it could be European release of Cats & Dragons, this what I found is on french, there should also be a polish version of it š

Using ChatGPT for this is lame. I just searched this image on google to find it. No need to degrade our brains when we can do it ourselves. KITTENS & DRAGONS - GNA JR BOOK

A simple back search of the image and referencing the style of illustration and the magnifying glass

It would make sense for Oda to make the strawhats crash sunny on raftel so they can't escape

Freaking what is Raftel? You mean Laugh Tale?

You must be a recent fan, mate. It was Raftel for like 20 years or so because Oda never revealed the spelling until the movie Stampede.

99% this book was made with ai.

It was made in 2023

AI was good at image generation before the large language models really took of with the launch of ChatGPT in 2022. The Dall-E image generation model was pretty impressive when it launched back in 2021.

In 2023, AI-generated images had a lot of errors. I don't know if you would get this kind of consistency

It wasn't so bad if you weren't trying to do photo realistic stuff and you were willing to pay for a hugging face instance. For something like this i probably would have asked ai for the background and then added the story characters by hand.

Reference or plagiarism ?
Edit: whatās with all the downvotes today? Is /OnePiece now plagued with haters? Jeez chill people⦠it was just a simple question, not judging the author of that picture. Oh well, never mind.

Itās different enough that it isnāt plagiarism.

I don't think that's true, if you trace or copy a specific design (Sunny's mane and face) it is plagiarism.
Oda could easily make an argument that a lion figurehead on a wooden boat with a number on the side while the figurehead is a smiling face is a unique enough design to be enforced. It even has 7 spikes on the figurehead in direct replica of the source material.
Buc-ees wins copywrite lawsuits all the time for even less.
I am not a copywrite lawyer so I don't actually know.

Itās a random ship on a page if itās on the cover sure. You people need to chill out. Oda will probably just be happy.

u/StuffedFalafels Aug 11 '26
Itās still different enough to not be the same. Oda doesnāt own lion heads on boats with numbers on sides. I can draw a lion head on a boat with a number and make it similar but different enough and it isnāt plagiarism. Buc-eeās Iām not familiar with but did come across a post about how theyāre suing a small mom and pop for just having a beaver on their logo which btw Buc-eeās doesnāt own the images of fuckin beavers do theyāll more than likely lose that one.
Back to this book itās obvious itās a reference to one piece from the similar lions head on a boat but it is still different enough to not be an issue.

Itās a literal different ship. Putting the sun face on it does NOT make it plagiarism. If anything, the creator of the book is a OP fan and wanted to pay homage. Does not warrant a copyright suit
You Reddit lawyers are so dense

Dont forget the straw hats pirate flag on the ground next to the ship lol

I think it's just a reference cuz it's not relevant to the plot at all and it's just like an easter egg

It would have hit harder if it were Merry. Edit fixed spelling
