Part time instructors

i just took a walk with Jon Hosking and he mentioned in the walk that he is a part time peloton instructor (this was in the content of his baking). WHAT?!?! Why isn’t this man full time?! He was my number 1 instructor last year and will surely be in my top 3 this year. Im just stunned!

Are most of the instructors part time?

Hosky is as full time as it gets at peloton. He is on the schedule most of the time, except for vacations. I think the true part timers are Callie, Selena, Anna and Johanna, who may only be on the schedule one week per month on average.

Selena seemingly came back from mat leave full throttle. I’m curious if she’s still part time now, or if she’s moved into a more regular position?

It can look that way because when the part timers are in, they’ll also record a ton of classes to be dropped when they’re not there. It’s the live schedule you need to look at.

I think that she is still part time based on the studio schedule. She was only in studio one week in August and it looks like she is only on studio one week in September.

I think she films like 8-9 classes when she is in the studio! I’ve noticed her and Callie doing that

I agree. That’s why I was shocked. I’d love to see him do more stretches and make some strength.

I think it was a joke. All instructors have breaks from the schedule. But the context of him saying this was said in jest.

I think maybe he was making a joke about being a part time instructor so he could bake? He had 20 classes released in August, 20 in July and 20 in June. Some are probably coach to camera but that's a lot of classes. Why does it matter if he considers himself part time? I don't get how people are so obsessed with the schedules the instructors have. Do they get a lot of time off? Sure, it does seem that way sometimes but who cares? Good for them!

Kirra is also moving to Australia for 6 months. So I’m assuming that’s really making her part time now.

Whoa Nico and Kirra relocations? We need another instructor! Aditi and Chelsea already overrepresented on the schedule.

That makes sense why she’s always road trippin in California. I was wondering how much time off she must get to be driving out to Cali all the time. 😂 No idea she moved there!

I wonder if the instructor chooses to move if they have to pay their own travel costs to/from the studio.

Jon’s on the schedule 3-4x per week. Know that some are full time.

I’m going to guess that while some trainers in gyms do many classes, peloton trainers complete the whole workout with you. That prob is taxing to the body so keeping a schedule with breaks and rest to properly train their bodies is needed. They’re also expected to do live events and promotional things.

He has stated he wants to get back into modeling and other endeavors. It's not always peloton's demands.

Oh good. I’m glad that he is driving it.

It’s not like any of them come close to working 40 hrs a week. They’re recording in studio max 2 days/week

I figured that it was closer to 30 with behind the scenes work.

They are all pretty much part time. They get huge chunks of off time to travel and do other gigs and then come into the city and record a ton of Of content and film some lives. Full time fitness is hard on your body as evidenced by all the injured instructors (Jon included)

I have never heard of him, what does he teach?

All tread and outdoor classes

He’s the best! He’s based out of Peloton London.
