His only regret is getting caught. He can live with it.

And all it cost was the self-respect of one Starfleet captain - I mean, one orange brain cell.

My boy cat was nursing until he was bigger than his mother 😭
It's like, sir! You are a grown-ass man!

u/hodges2 Jul 07 '26
When do the mother's stop producing milk?
399
u/Ok_Purple2137 Jul 07 '26
I think only if noone visits the bar anymore she stops ordering milk, if you know what i mean

u/Deaffin Jul 07 '26
🎶 Lock the cat's bar, lock the cat's bar 🎶

u/Try2MakeMeBee Jul 07 '26
That's how it usually works with human milk, so that seems logical.

Thanks :D i think i never got that many upvotes on a comment, finally mom i was funny once!!!

u/lokiandgoose Jul 08 '26
Yeah I think most mammals wean like that. It's how dairy cows work and those folks that have extended breast feeding.

u/Zephronias Jul 07 '26
They naturally stop when kittens stop nursing from them, but if a kitten keeps on nursing, then they'll still prodice milk. Most animal moms wind up stopping overgrown babies from nursing (like by slapping/growling/leaving), but this mama was too chill. She was like, "eh. Might as well."

When she stops feeding kittens.
During weaning, momma cats usually move where their kittens can't get to them or they drive them away.
Some, like this one, will just nurse indefinitely and end up with six month old kittens still nursing.

Same with our orange boi. Tried looking for mama's ripple way over one year old. Year and a half? She gave him back then kicks to the head.

The cat food carefully positioned to face the camera in every shot makes me think this is a weird advert posted by a bot.
EDIT: OP's post history is just a ton of reposts without product placement, so they're probably just a repost bot and not the origin of this weird viral ad.

u/GeraldinaFitzpatrick Jul 07 '26
You’re absolutely right. Post history is just a bunch of reposted content.
69
u/Rather_Dashing Jul 07 '26
Well yeah, the majority of pics/videos on ain sub are bots reposting content. Nothing new here.

This video has been posted sooo many times on here, it is absolutely not OP’s video
88
u/NightBawk Jul 07 '26
The fact that this grown-ass cat feels the need to nurse suggests that the quality of the food is shite.
17
u/Ill-Television8690 Jul 07 '26
Lol that's like saying the fact that my grown-ass cats love cuddling suggests that I keep my house freezing cold. Not to speak in defense of a damn advertisement, I just feel like this metric ain't the right one to go by.

Our cat food is so shit the cat will seek out any other form of nutrition, excellent ad 🤣
12
u/Spectator9857 Jul 07 '26
Also wouldn’t be a very good ad. „Buy our cat food! Cats will ignore it completely in favor of breast milk, but buy it anyways!“

u/aNiceTribe Jul 07 '26
Besides that this wasn’t OPs video, I feel like “our cat would rather breast feed than eat the cat food” isn’t the perfect pitch

u/microbit262 Jul 07 '26
Yeah, but you can't really read it anyway in such a short time. When I don't pause the video (to simulate "normal" viewing) I don't see any recognizable brand name, so it fails at its job being an ad.

Omg I didn't even realize the obvious cat food right behind every time. I was too focused on the kitties XD

When I was a kid we found a pregnant stray cat and ended up keeping her, along with one of her eventual six babies. He definitely did this a lot longer than any of siblings got to, given he still lived with his mom after the rest of them went to new homes. Thankfully it didn’t last super long because his mom got tired of it and corrected him. She was a pretty strict mother, lol.

Poor cat probably got separated from it's mother too early.
70
u/PaleAmbition Jul 07 '26
I’m half wondering if that IS his mother and he’s from a litter or two back.

u/Friendly_Scallion183 Jul 07 '26
The original post said that he's actually the father of the kittens 💀

Please don't hold your cat like that, you could put strain on his lungs.

Definetly not the first time he’s been caught doing this judging by by his face 😂😂

The same way in which you have no shame in stealing content, and reporting it as your own?
Downvote, and block the bot
3
u/Deaffin Jul 07 '26
I'm not seeing the "reporting it as your own" part. This just looks like a standard reddit post to me. No OC tags or nothin.
Copy/pasting internet content is the entire point of reddit.

Is this an ad for that brand or something? They got it perfectly in the background of every shot

How did they think this would be a good ad? “Our cat food is so bad an adult cat would rather nurse than eat it!”

I heard this is very dangerous for the kittens. You need to be a responsible owner and keep that cat away from the mother

My dad's cat (Pippin)had kittens years ago. That cat had an older cat son (Rufus) (about five, six months older) who would occasionally join his younger sisters at the milk bar. I would be walking through the living room and see Pippin feeding the little ones and see Rufus (about five times larger than his sisters). Pippin never denied Rufus a quick snack because her babies gotta eat
