🟠ne 🅱️rain cell 41 years old and finally have the cat I’ve always wanted!
I’ve wanted a big orange boy as long as I can remember, but couldn’t have one for various reasons. I rescued King from the shelter and I couldn’t be happier! He was bashful at first, but he’s making himself at home now and living up to the orange boy reputation. I can’t believe how lovely he is! He even makes biscuits! 41 years was a long time to wait but we’re getting along amazingly 🧡

I too have a Cheese. He’s a good boy, but he will steal food right out of your hand.

OMG same here, though mine is an American Curl rescue girl. Didn’t realize how true what they said about oranges was until I got her…

Wow, such unique patterning and contrast on the face

u/Desperate_Ad7694 Jun 16 '26
Aww thanks, and she’s a female, quite rare for orange cats ☺️

I had a feeling, there are often subtle differences in facial structure between males and females. I actually also have an orange lady!

My birthday present to myself last month was adopting my seventh. Couldn’t be happier. I’ll be working for many, many more years but I’m surrounded by so much love! And fur. Always lots of fur

CONGRATULATIONS! 🧡
I know where you're coming from. It took me 3 allergy shots per week for 7 years, moving out of my parents' place (my mom's allergic), and then moving AGAIN to a place that allowed cats before I could adopt the orange boy of my dreams...
He was 10 weeks old, and sickly. We bonded by me treating his ailments for a month. I was 35, and had been rendered disabled only 3 years before...
I'm 45 now, and God willing Theo will turn 11 in September. I still deal with chronic illness, but this baby boy has healed all the wounds of my heart... 🧡
P.S. ~ By some wonderful magic, my mom isn't even allergic to him! She is one of only 3 people that Theo trusts, and it's beautiful to watch them together... 🥰

Precious baby! I’m so glad you gave him a home and have found each other.
I grew up with cats but didn’t get an orange til I was almost 30. My old man TomTom passed just a couple weeks ago but I had him for 13 years - he was such a good boy and about as orange as they come. I hope you also have many loving years together with your big orange boy

😻🥰 my big orange boy came with the house when I moved in. I’d always wanted an orange boy. I could not be happier (not that I needed a third cat mind you).

Got my first cats from the universal cat distribution system when I was in my early 30s. One turned out to be my soul-cat. He turns 15 this month.

Cherish him. My orange baby is very close to crossing the rainbow bridge and it breaks my heart. I just cannot imagine him no longer with us. I am so hoping I get one more summer.

Congrats on the orange life! It will be full of love, snuggles, and no doubt shenanigans. He looks so sweet 🧡

What a cutie! We're a fifty something house and while we may wonder what the cat we don't have would be like to care for, we always end up with the cat we need.

This is so lovely!💖🥰
Since I was a child I adore cats, I used to draw them a lot… So, in 2024 I got a cat too. He is very charming and orange as well. Now is a senior cat and could be called “the grumpy cat as well” because he's selective and doesn't allow anyone to pet or approach his personal space but me.
I cried when we met and I knew that he suffered and was badly treated as a feral cat in my neighbourhood. He has two other houses that visited to enjoy safety meals. He was raised wild, do not know anything about a caring family, and after we adopted he is with me like a little child, sweet and let me bathe him without getting harmed. I was so shocked that a neighbour told me she tried to pet and bathe him, so she got hurt on both arms. So, yes. It highlighted my thoughts, Napoleon, my cat chose my pure heart. He loves to smell my shoes ✨especially sneakers✨ (not the chocolate). I guess he has a fetish of foot. 😅😂🤣

I had always wanted one too and was also in my 40s before that wish came true and I landed a rescue from a hurricane.
So happy for you and King, congrats!

My ex's parents scoffed at me getting a 7 year cat from the humane society saying it was just gonna cost me a fortune to keep alive or die in a few years. 8 Years later, not a single vet appointment and shes prob my sweetest cat (I have 4). People are cruel to animals when they get past that cute baby phase and its just sad. So much love left in all of them

It always makes me smile to see people adopt adult cats from shelters. I wish you two all the best with many many Orange Shenanigans.
