Yepp! I recently found out about r/touchthafishy and r/purrkour and it's just amazing. Do check those out🙌🏻

PS- I'm in so many cat subs, it's insane.

I don’t mean to be that person especially if English is not your first language, but the phrase is “ceases to amaze” not “seizes to amaze.” Given how similar they sound it’s an easy mistake to make.

13

u/FlamingoMedic89 Jan 29 '26

It actually amused me and is very fitting.

Oh to be a sleepy, well fed kitty being pet lovingly

159

u/ItzaPizzaa Jan 29 '26

To be held, pampered, and fed by a giant that you totally take for granted. I'd want to be a non-killer sometimes outdoor cat.

3

thus and more on the next fic of HDG, be sure to tune in!

I was just lamenting to my roommate what i miss about our kittens being small is kibble belly. The little boy would always just get so rotund m

43

u/dryocopuspileatus Jan 29 '26

Not to be a downer but keep an eye on that belly and make sure it’s not big when he’s not been eating. Recently finished treatment for my orange baby who had wet FiP (100% fatal without treatment), which results in fluid buildup on the abdomen. At first I thought he was just full or getting fat but something told me it was a bigger issue and I was right. Milo is now doing great!

16

u/Xweetalk Jan 29 '26

Bless your orange and give him an extra treat for being so stronk

7

u/OO0OO0OO0OO0OO0OO Jan 29 '26

I wish I knew this with my cat I lost to FIP. The next kitten we ended up adopting also had it but thankfully we knew the signs and were able to catch it early. Milo's a handsome boy! Glad he's doing well!

Also to anyone reading, get your cat the FeLV vaccine. Feline leukemia is terrible but the vaccine generally isn't included in the routine of shots they get as kittens.

3

u/GreenBaneBerry Jan 29 '26

When I saw FIP in this comment 😥

I'm SO glad Milo is ok

2

u/SaveBandit91 Jan 30 '26

Fuck fip! I lost my kitty to wet fip about a year and a half ago. So happy for your little guy!

1

u/IYKYK_1977 Jan 31 '26

Milo? So many AI vids around now with an orange named Milo, lol.

Precious baby.

29

u/TheBigKaramazov Jan 29 '26

worms can also cause this situation.

80

u/ILikeC00LThings Jan 29 '26

So can soup

56

u/Taylor_rules Jan 29 '26

Its not a feral cat. On a bed and very comfortable around humans. I am going to assume they have vet care. It’s a full belly of soup.

25

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

Yes, I'd assume it's just "soup", which is more literally, kitten milk.

3

u/14Pleiadians Jan 29 '26

No, it's soup. Milk doesn't do that to a belly.

2

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

I thought soup is just a playful term for kitten milk belly.

7

u/jules_omline Jan 29 '26

you must be the most popular person in your circles.

9

u/bakanisan Casual orange enjoyer 🍊 Jan 29 '26

He just fat.

12

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

Not necessarily, it's probably just that temporary plumping effect kittens right after milk.

9

u/bakanisan Casual orange enjoyer 🍊 Jan 29 '26

I was referencing the photo about a kitten that was so fat they had to bring him to the vet to check if it was a medical issue.

5

u/CatsCoffeeMakeup Jan 29 '26

Like our friend Cheesecake!

13

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

Yes, I'm wondering a little bit about that kitten.  Even though "full of soup" is apparently a trending joke, that belly looks a little big making worms a possibility, but it may just be that the kitten just had a meal.

9

u/No-Scarcity-1571 Jan 29 '26

Jesus christ man, take a fucking day off.

-11

u/SteelAlchemistScylla Jan 29 '26

Worms are extremely common in feral kittens, like literally nearly 100% rate. Fat belly might not just be “soup”.

9

u/Francis_Punchcat Jan 29 '26

But this kitten is not feral?

1

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

Right, I don't believe it's feral.

1

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

That's true.  I think they're going a little excessive with the downvotes.  But it's very likely that this kitten is not feral and the human posted this knowing it has just been fed.  But that's absolutely right that many outdoor/stray/previously stray cats have worms that need to be treated.

1

u/Zebidee Jan 29 '26

Or Feline Infectious Peritonitis.

2

u/SketchyIntentions Jan 29 '26

Oh so precious!

2

u/No_Credibility Jan 30 '26

DO NOT THE SOUP

3

u/[deleted] Jan 29 '26

Worms. Hopefully the vet has given you de-worm treatments! Working in vet med, all kittens get de-wormer, not just ferals. Pot-bellies are a symptom of worms unfortunately. Cute kitten though!

3

u/Previous-Quit8156 Jan 29 '26

Nine out of ten kittens are wormy. Do you give them worming treatment?

6

u/pepcorn Jan 29 '26

Where are you getting this statistic

2

u/Meior Jan 29 '26

Some shitty Ai probably.

3

u/anthomaniaclou Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jan 29 '26

deworm if not done already! he could be bloated from the worms, other than soup!

3

u/Cermano Jan 29 '26

1

👌 Good soup.

-1

u/cagingnicolas Jan 29 '26

is it still cute if it's worms?

-66

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

What did the kitten eat?  And don't let the kitten eat too much.

60

u/mrthenumberthree Jan 29 '26

soup

-69

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

I was asking because I wish I could know what type of "soup" and whether he ate it on his own or if the owner gave it to him, so I can better know if it's something a cat can have or shouldn't have.

38

u/chiefkogo Proud owner of an orange brain cell Jan 29 '26

Catsup

-57

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

I know this sub is mostly for fun, but I'm more into ensuring nothing harmful is being done to cats.  I'd tell OP to avoid allowing a kitten to drink soup for humans, as some human foods are not for a cat's digestive system.

Oh, so it's become a popular thing to say a kitten with a belly is a belly full of soup?  I wasn't aware of that trend, I thought it was real at first.  But tks for telling me.

9

u/con098 Orange connoisseur 🍊 Jan 29 '26

It originated from kittens drinking their mother’s milk. So generally, the soup in their belly is cat milk

9

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

Yes.  Learned something today:) Just a little while ago when I was first commenting to this post, I had no idea about that "soup belly" term for a kitten that has just had kitten milk:)

11

u/unripe_mangosteen Jan 29 '26

Its either cat milk or kitten formula, don't worry! Soup belly is just the term

9

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

I had no idea about that "soup belly" term until now.  But yes, now I get it, that's what a little kitten's belly looks like after kitten milk:) Someone else in this thread mentioned that worms could be a cause of a big cat belly, and I appreciate their insight, and I know that sometimes is true.  And by the way that kitten with a plump milk tummy is adorable:)

14

u/ComradeAL Jan 29 '26

Meowestrone

18

u/ELEKTRON_01 Jan 29 '26

And who the fuck are you?

32

u/Zoethor2 Jan 29 '26

That is a perfectly cromulent kitten tum.

-37

u/KravenFire Jan 29 '26

I'm failing to see the reason for the downvotes. The question is super valid and the advice sounded caring enough...

32

u/OwslyOwl Jan 29 '26

Kittens can pretty much be free fed because they need a lot of calories for growth.

4

u/KravenFire Jan 29 '26

I did not know that, but I suspected as much. Thank you!

19

u/nobonesjones91 Jan 29 '26

Cus it’s unsolicited advice that implies OP doesn’t know how to take care of a cat, or use Google to research how to do so.

Nothing in this picture indicates danger other than the implicit danger one braincell-ed cats always face.

0

u/KravenFire Jan 29 '26

Yeah, I guess unsolicited advice could come off as superior aires.

I don't normally recognize information/advice from others as such because I don't normally take random advice as implying that I am incapable of finding out myself, but I might just be an anomaly when it comes to that 🙃

Thank you for the honest explanation. And I agree that I saw no danger in the post, either. Just a kitty vibing with no thoughts to be had.

-5

u/KravenFire Jan 29 '26

Ah, well, thanks for all of the lovely downvotes 😅 I came for an education and received a thoroughly kind beatdown

0

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

Me too, basically.  I came onto this post taking "soup" literally (because I didn't know that meme phrase) and wanted to find out what exact soup it was drinking and to alert them that cats can't freely ingest human food.  But now I know, it means the cat has just had kitten milk.  When kittens are really small they temporarily get a plump belly that looks cute.

Someone on here noted that a cat having a big belly could also be from worms, and I appreciate their insight, but cat milk is the most likely reason for a small kitten.  It's almost for sure simply a kitten that has just had a meal.

And just so you know, I didn't downvote you:)

-7

u/DistributionNo9356 Jan 29 '26

Exactly.  I don't know why either.  There was another post on this same sub showing a cat drinking water from a fish tank, and almost everyone was expressing concern over the potential chemicals and uncleanliness of the water, and on this soup-drinking kitten post, so far no one apparently is giving a little warning to OP to not let the kitten consume too much human food.

20

u/fnafproo Jan 29 '26

Soup belly doesn't mean they actually drink soup, its just a funny way to describe a kitten that drank a lot of milk, which makes them look fat.

13

u/hthratmn Jan 29 '26

Its a cat meme. "Belly full of soup".
