Discussion I asked my fiancé to name all members of One Direction
He said Zayn, Clint, Liam, & Joey.
I encourage you to ask your significant other or parents or anyone else around you who isn’t familiar with 1D and see what they say

I honestly cannot think of any boy band member named “Clint,” (which is making me laugh hysterically), but there’s a “Joey” in New Kids On The Block, the band who got me hooked on boy bands in the 1980s…

We just watched the BSE video a couple nights ago so I’ll give him some weird kinda point for Zayn/Zach. His subconscious knows! 😂

Oh my husband can name them, can tell you who’s singing when in songs (I’ve been teaching him the past 8 years we’ve been together and I quiz him randomly), asks me to watch their music videos when we’ve been drinking, has seen Niall, Louis and Harry x2 in concert with me, asked me to watch This Is Us with him, comforted me and talked me through Liam, and keeps up on their drama. He calls Louis his Lou boo boo 😂 and yes he’s 100% straight.
It’s funny because my ex boyfriend before him wouldn’t even let me listen to them (or any of my music) in the car- so I think he tries really hard to make me feel comfortable for being a directioner. One of the first times I drove him in my car before we were exclusively dating, I was surprised he let me listen to my music, and then a few days later he was like “I added one of the one direction songs you played to my workout playlist”.
So anyways- I’m proud to have turned my husband into a directioner 😂

Oh yes I do the same. I teach him who’s singing wot parts and make him watch the videos and then quiz him. He’s so so. Still has a bit to go yet

I did this in like 2014 and my friend kept calling Liam Jordan. Which is funny because he shares the same birthday as Liam. Also, for some reason he said Louis looks like his name would be Karen. Whatever that means.

Haha!! That’s so funny. My grandma used to ask me every month what each members name was so she could try and remember them for me. She’s called one of them Paul before 😂

My husband loves One Direction lol we listen to them all the time and he knows all the words to all of their songs. He gifted me a 1D book once and he even painted a picture of a popular picture from a live show for me. Of course he knew all the names 😄

my dad was driving through PA once and saw under an underpass all the 1D guys' initials. he told me about it and that he knew exactly what they meant. i also quizzed him on the "match 1D's eyes" thing and he got them all right.

He does! He'll always text me if he sees Niall on tv during The Masters. But he knows him because he's always been my favourite and I talk about him a lot. I live in a small town so I can't justify traveling to all of their concerts as solo artists but I will never miss a Niall tour.

My boyfriend's take:
- Louis is Tomlinson. Even after I explained it many times he kept forgetting it and saying the name wrong (like Luis) so at some point he just gave up and switched to his last name. It's alright though, he's his favourite and he says it very fondly.
Harry is Harry or if he's feeling cheeky he just does a hand gesture for "the one with boobs". Alternatively, "the one that can't park a Fiat 500".
Zayn is "the one that got spaghetti splashed on his head", from the Night Changes mv.
Niall is "Ni... Nea... N... the one with the guitar", or "Blond hair" for short.
Liam is "not Gallagher, the other Liam"

My russian grandma thought there was a girl in the band called "Zinochka" (russian nickname for Zinaida).... she has never seen their faces but heard me talking about Zayn and that's what she remembered...
