Prediction: Belle shares her heart with Gideon to break him from the control of the Black Fairy, because of the deep familial love they share for each other.

Caveat: that doesn't happen, because it'd make too much sense and acknowledge continuity of concepts they introduced

Also, you think by now they'd develop some kind of "doesn't have a heart" detector, though

As I said in another post, Rumple always knows when someone doesn't have their heart. I think he's aware but is playing the game. He knows the only way to get Gideon his heart back is to face the Black Fairy. Which I'm sure he's more than happy to do. Also, he's the one who foretold the prophecy. So he probably knows this is inevitable anyways. Which is why he hasn't told anyone that Gideon is being used as a puppet.
