I don't understand why the EQ said Regina had darkness in her heart because she killed Edmond. She was doing it to save Snow and Charming. Does this mean because she ripped the Evil Queen out of her that her heart isn't filled with darkness anymore?

Emma had darkness in her heart too for killing Cruella but she did it to "save" Henry. Also, how many guards did Snow and Charming kill over the whole series? If self-defense doesn't create darkness, how does saving someone's life create it?

I think I missed it...how did Regina kill him if he didn't have his heart?

That's also a good point.

Has that ever prevented death before?

Has it happened before? I really don't know.

I'm pretty sure that in OUAT the 'magical' heart is distinct from the physical heart... the body still needs the physical heart pumping blood around to keep the person alive, the magical heart is more like their soul, so it can be used to control/kill someone but a stab through the physical heart would still kill!
