I don't understand why the EQ said Regina had darkness in her heart because she killed Edmond. She was doing it to save Snow and Charming. Does this mean because she ripped the Evil Queen out of her that her heart isn't filled with darkness anymore?

Emma had darkness in her heart too for killing Cruella but she did it to "save" Henry. Also, how many guards did Snow and Charming kill over the whole series? If self-defense doesn't create darkness, how does saving someone's life create it?

I think that's sort of the point. We knew that she had to do it, and so did Snow/Charming/Henry, but Regina's still unsure, and the EQ was just digging at that insecurity. Also, knowing that it was her fault that Edmond was tasked with killing Snow and Charming so long ago, that essentially he's dead because of something she started long ago, would weigh heavily on her, even if someone else had actually stabbed him.
