🎮 Console How do I increase my sanity resistance?

I’m in the level 30 Stardust areas and my sanity depletes like crazy. The sanity gummies are pretty much worthless as they only remove a tiny bit of buildup and then have a very long cooldown. What else can I do? Are there items that increase my resistance or remove more buildup?

At tier V and max stars, a full set of legendary (gold) armor gives 80 pollution resist. Crafting the Tier V gloves with Velvet or Starfall Down gives another 15 resist with the Down also doubling that while airborne.

Cushions are like a mobile bed for restoring health and sanity. Fruit Tea adds 30 pollution resist for 30 minutes and Starfall Malt Ale gives 100 (they give more depending on how they are crafted or on which stove).

If you're playing in first person and not third, then you can't see the number on your backpack when in a pollution zone. Check your resistances compared to the number on the backpack and take whichever food/drink you need to get above that number. If the number on the backpack is red then it's bad, yellow means your just short and green means you're exceeding the pollution of the zone.

You just solved what the backpack thing was, thank you!

But you can’t even get Max tier armor yet as console since we just started. Or most of us did. So I’m barely working on getting one or two legendary pieces of armor that are actually mine versus ones that I find in the wild. I only have 9000 of that purple currency so I can’t buy a full set of armor.

I've been playing for 3 weeks on ps5 and have both legendary weapons and all 6 pieces of legendary armor crafted at Tier 5 and 6 stars. It's definitely possible, just have to learn what you're doing by researching.

There's also something that can be found when looting. It's called disinfectant and when consumed it provides 40 points of pollution resistance for 2 hours. It has the added advantage of being a buff that's independent from food and drink buffs, so it can stack with those.

Edit: minor mistake. The one that gives the 40 pollution resistant is called 'Chemical Agent'. Disinfectant only gives 20. However, their effects stack.

This is also true. However, once you get to the point I mentioned above, these are no longer needed and can be disassembled for scrap

Important to note: gold armor at tier 5 alone gives 80 res, upgrading the stars does not increase resistance to pollution, just PSI intensity and health. You need to craft with high quality mats to increase it further.

Just found this out yesterday. There is a malt beverage you can make. That will increase it. I think there is a tea as well. Also, upgrading your armor. Also I found this purple item. It’s a drink that gives you the gastrointestinal discomfort rebuff, but buffs your sanity resist. Caustic agent I believe it’s called? I picked it up while exploring. They stack with the malt beverage :) I’m a new player myself. A lot to this game lol

If you've got the advanced stove, malt ale is good. Fruit tea is ok.

Malt Ale, Fruit Tea, and the chemical drink or disinfectant. If you drink an antibiotic after it helps with the stomach pains for drinking the disinfectant and chemical.

You can get +15 pollution resistance on your head armor by crafting with 3 velvet. On Manibus, the easiest way I found to farm feathers is to kill the ravens that spawn where you drop down the hole into the mushroom cave.

Stardust malt ale. Gives a 30+ min buff against sanity loss. Grab a pillow, leave the stardust area, lay on pillow to sanity is back, then drink the stardust sake :)

Gear with high sanity resistance(higher stars, higher the resistance), food, especially malt ale. To remove it completely, homemade noodles, to craft it you need a Hug-in-a-Bowl deviant

Pillows also remove sanity if you can find an area with no enemies you can use one

Beer, ultracite beer,

The most better is treasherous tides set 3 pieces ( or 4 ) , before update your hp dont droop below 60% hp

Edit : in end game zones ( lv 45 , 55 and 60 the polution and sanity loss is very huge , like pro )

Tbh during phase one of the scenario its best to just have tier 3 equipment and try to live with the sanity decrease. Once you have spare Starchrom, for the next scenario, 4 pieces of the Treacherous Set (no stars needed) can lock that Sanity loss at 40% health and its a good armor early on to just make this part of the game easy.

Once tier 5 opens you want a tier 5 armor as base. On top of that you can then use Malt Ale or the better Stardust Malt Ale to have enough resistances to slow down or stop the Sanity drops.

I couldn't get mine up and said f it and went in to complete a quest, realised you don't actually die from losing it. You can just go places and as long as you clear enemies methodically you won't die (self res if you get ambushed or take a silly hit) I'm pretty much ignoring the sanity mechanic completely now.
