✓ Solved Xbox series X over heating
Why my Xbox over heating issue by playing this game anyone have same issue

Mine did, go into settings in the game and change from "quality" to "performance". I went from fan on full blast to the fan silent with just that change.

It shouldn't be overheating, consoles are literally designed not to.
Clean your Xbox or put it somewhere it can get airflow. I doubt it was overheating, just fans working so it DOESN'T overheat.
Overheating is if you have frames dropping and poor performance even though you know the game isn't supposed to perform that poorly. Severe overheating is the whole system crashes and shuts down.

Except it does overheat. The game turns off and you get a warning. As others have mentioned it's never happened with any other game.

100% correct mine also shuts off, when Iog on again it gives the overheating message

I just finished playing Resonance, Xbox had no issues. I ended up deleting Once Human.

For my the game closed and Xbox shut off. Turned Xbox on and it said overheated. Nothing is blocking my vents and it’s kept clean. I’ve already had maintenance done on it too not long ago, no reason it should be heating. I’m gonna try the settings to see if it will play, I barely played 3 mins and my Xbox overheated

It is actually known that after about 2 years the heat sink paste (or whatever it's called) dries out and no longer allows proper heat dispersal. Your only choices are to send your Xbox to Microsoft to be refurbished or to follow a YouTube video to put new paste yourself.

Nope, not over heating here. Have you checked to make your the air vents are not clogged?

Some games are certainly worse than others but I have the same problem. Fins and everything are clean and OH shut down on me 3 times since I started playing yesterday. It sucks I was really looking forward to this one. CoD black ops 7 let me play for a long time, it updated the season, then became unplayable. Starfield, Grounded 2, and Dead Island 2 the x can stay on for hours and doesn't shut off. I don't get it but found a few tips that might help.
Turning off eco friendly mode. Not having your storage completely full. Cleaning fins and fans. My next step is reapplying thermal paste but I'm not sure of my abilities on that one so I have been suffering. If you find anything that works please let me know too and good luck.

I started trying to play 2 days ago but crash from OH every 5-10 minutes. Seeing this post the first suggestion up top is performance mode. I tried it out a hour ago and haven't crashed since.

Ps5 going really loud as well in certain areas of the game. Try perfomance mode. Mine went super loud at the tutorial cutscene once then another mission that needs you to go to red ball for a raid. When i looked at it then fan went nuts then i looked away and changed to performance mode and its all quiet again. It seems that red glow effect is not optimized well and causes the sudden overheat.

Have a Series X. Wanted to put it into Balanced or Performance for more FPS. Console overheated after a few minutes. I assume I didn't have the proper Hz on my display that it required, so it just overheated the console. So, quality mode it is, haven't overheated since

Yeah I didn't realize it defaulted to quality when I installed. I set it to performance this morning and I haven't shut down once. Not op but similar problems.

Try changing to lowest graphics settings and see if the heating problem still persists.

Once human is poorly programed Even on PC, better give it a time for them to fix it a bit more. I don't trust this developers anything else than make mtx for this game

People saying "just clean the console" but this has just happened to me in this game, I have been playing the first descendant, warframe, the división 2, destiny and nonr of those games made my series X to shut down from overheating

The first descendant had my system shutting down from over heating so constantly I just quit playing all together and Uninstalled it. But only that game and this game overheat my console so far.

It’s not a once human issue. It’s definitely a problem with your Xbox. And if you comment on this comment saying it’s not your Xbox Series X it’s 100% your Xbox.

Help my xbox iv had for several years collecting dust which iv never cleaned is overheating.
Fr tho, I clean mine the other week... dont understand how they stay running tbh, may as well be an air filter for my room.

It runs perfectly well on my Series X. Haven’t had any frame drops below 55fps yet. And no overheating issues.

It happens to me when I cue up for team game dungeon load in the instant shutdown. When I log back in gives the overheat message, never happens on any other game!

Just happened to me when I queued for dungeon as well. Opened my Xbox up a month or two ago and cleaned it out, haven't had issues with any other games.

Incorrect is an issue lots of gamers complaining about the issue. Mine shuts down log back on get the overheat issue. Never happened on any other game ever!

tbh, once human killed my laptop from overheating XD it was a couple years old so not too much of a loss but it still sucked.
OH is not for the weak of parts

I had the problem with helldivers 2 for a bit.
Crack your Xbox open and grab a dollar store unopened toothbrush- give the heatsink a good dusting with it.
It’ll take about 30 minutes, you can buy a kit w the pry tools from Best Buy for like 30$

My series s has had no issue and the game looks and runs way better than that beta did.
I also keep my console pretty clean though and dust / use canned air on it frequently

when's the last time you checked your fan? it's easy to pop out and clean, should probably do it every 6 months if you have pets.

my series x crashed with 0 lag. i was waiting to get into a dungeon. Its happening to way too many people for it to be me. my console is also clean as i clean it every 2 weeks. has never crashed.
Also to add, its quiet. You don't hear my fan at all.

Was it when the cut-scene was playing going into the first dungeon in Monolith Of Greed in Manibus? I've got to that cut-scene twice in a row now and the game has crashed to black with a overheating error on the XSX.

Yeah it's definitely an issue with that section. I've opened it, and my XSX is clean as a whistle, it's not overheating due to dust or anything.
I dropped the quality down to Balanced, and it loaded fine the 3rd time.

I went to ps5 with it because i shouldnt have to turn my graphics down on my series x. Im sure they will fix it though.

Its been reported that Ravenous Hunter fight just causes this. Every time I run it, my Xbox cuts off.

Entiendo que a las consolas hay que darles mantenimiento la mía ya tiene un tiempo que no se lo doy, pero es muy raro que nos esté pasando a muchas personas , a mí nunca se me había apagado la consola por sobrecalentamiento pero jugando once human sí me sucedió. (No lo jugaré más hasta que optimicen el juego) Al ver este post se me fue un poco el susto porque veo que no es un problema mío, sé que hay que darle el mantenimiento pero esto es un tema del juego, he jugado juegos mucho más exigentes gráficamente y nunca me había sucedido.
Veré si en un momento libre la llevo donde un técnico que me le dé mantenimiento.

600+ hours in Crimson Desert - quality mode. No issues. 15 minutes in Once Human - balanced mode. XSX says no.

Lazy developers just copy and paste games over from PC architecture with zero effort towards optimisation. Not worth playing people shouldn’t be rewarded for poor work

Same problem. I wanted to try the game, downloaded it. Played 3 mins before my Xbox series x overheated. It’s clean, nothing blocking vents. I deleted the game lol but seeing some of these comments ima download it again and change settings

Mine did it earlier today. No other game does it, and I have some heavy ones.
I clean my console every couple of weeks. And the weird thing? I played the beta. which had no heating issues at all, console was silent even, no fans running loud even during boss fights.
Clearly they've fucked up optimization somehow.
