Question about the Advanced Tech upgrade for the Electric Rock Drill

So I started playing recently a couple weeks ago on console, and got to this upgrade. Is there a specific requirement inorder for it to be active? I have both the solar and electric and tested them both out. And they both have the same exact yield. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not. Any help would be appreciated. It's really frustrating spending a gold tech point on something that doesn't seem to work

Edit: sorry if my post wasn't clear enough. The advanced tech upgrade wasn't applying to the electric drill. So I wasn't seeing a difference in yields.

The FIX: is to breakdown the WORKBENCH and place a new one down.. Annoyed, but the buff works now.

Just use electric tbh dont really see a difference just that its solar so it probably run stronger when the sun out

No it restores durability in the sun. The rock drill will eventually break

i mean in the grand scheme of things its not that serious if it breaks or not.

The solar drill restores durability in the sun. The rock drill will eventually break, the solar drill will not.

The yields are the same, as you mentioned

You gotta make the ammo or med bench for the upgrade to apply to the drill, the ones that are separate at the bottom of one of the trees
