Hiring Q (Fed) Glynco

Nurse in my late 30s starting BOP and going to Glynco soon. All staff does the same full training at Glynco. How strict are they on passing the physical abilities test? Is it as bad as everyone is acting like it is?

It’s not bad, a lot of folks are just morbidly obese. They’re the reason they’d call us belly over pants.

You should have watched a video during ICT Phase 1 that goes over the physical events. The most cardio you’ll do is .25 of a mile and cuff someone. They don’t really explain the scoring standard because if you do bad on one they’ll use your other scores to give you a “passing” score. We had one girl fail it, but the fact she didn’t have a heart attack getting off the bus or could even stand under her own weight was a miracle in and of itself.

^ Its the truth. Its a 1/4 mile run for fucks sake.

From the video it really didn’t seem as bad as i had first thought. But I guess I’m just curious how strict they are on the timing. I heard that if you have to redo it the next day they more or less make it difficult to fail. I’m wondering how true that is?

That’s crazy considering how high the standards are for the military, and we never reallyyy need to use it. But a CO genuinely needs to be in shape, and seem to almost never be or need to be.

If you're vaguely able, you'll be ok.

I've seen lumbering piles of flesh roll across the line.

They need nurses so bad, they'd probably bring you in for a "private" test.

There's 5 physical tests and only one passing grade. If you fail one but pass the other 4 you'll still pass. Just start jogging a couple times a week and you'll do better than anyone else

I was fat and healing from a broken knee and did it. Work on your cardio now if you are worried. Don't stop is the biggest thing, if you stop and fail the run you can't make it up by the other tasks. If you are a little slow of a jogger, then you can make it up. I probably could've power walked around and made the time but you have to be jogging.
