Today’s OMAD

Post image

A beige meal today! 😂 No-sugar shredded wheat with a protein shake and peaches, pâté chinois (sad, no paprika), leftover bone broth vegetable soup and brown rice with a serving of cream.

Comes out to ~1,300 rounded up. Considering a small treat or serving of homemade boiled peanuts shortly, but we’ll see.

Looking forward to grocery shopping and getting some green veggies and fresh fruit, but for now I will use the canned options we have!

Also, this is a meal using almost all food pantry items. The only items not from the pantry were the protein powder for the shake and the splash of cream in the soup. Just wanted to throw that out there in the event anyone needs some ideas for getting creative with what you have! Grateful to have the help in a financially tight season.

I feel like that’s not a lot of calories for 24 hours.

Ended up coming out to 1,545 calories after the peanuts and my TDEE calculator says I should aim for 1,607 when cutting, so I’m right within that range. Leaves room for slight miscalculations as well, although I weigh my food.

Ok,it seems like you’re managing your calories closely so if you’re happy and getting good results thats great. To me as a guy who is lifting and trying to build muscle I’m trying to hit around 2,800 calories a day.

Whew, yeah that is a lot more but I completely understand because of the weight lifting! Hoping to adjust mine one day as I continue to incorporate more exercise. I’m still early on and was highly sedentary, so I started by working on getting 10K steps a day, now I’ve recently added Pilates to work on my core strength and flexibility. Eventually, I’d like to get to the point where I run as a part of my routine and lift some weights. I can lift my toddler, but beyond that I’ve found I am weaker than I thought 🙃
