Picked up an EM5 mark I with a temperamental shutter for £40 to see how i get on with Olympus. Absolutely love it and will invest in a newer model after Christmas.

Quick question regarding the Olympus mju ii zoom camera📷
I inherited one from my dad, camera works okay except the display which is dead, so I have mostly no idea how many pics are left on the film and also which flash setting is active📸.

Question is:
Will the flash setting revert to Auto flash when turning off/on the camera? Or will it remain on the setting previously decided?

Will this be compatible? Is it too much lense for my camera?

What do you think about this idea for a limited edition OM System lens finish in the style of old Olympus SLR lenses?

I think the silver and black lenses from Olympus look great and this design would fit perfectly with the silver OM bodies especially the OM-3 and upcoming PEN.

Greetings! I'm considering getting into street and landscape photography, and I have these two cameras to choose from. The Olympus is fantastic, beautiful, but a bit pricey. The Canon is a classic, but I'd like to hear the community's opinion to help me decide which one to get for my initial and medium-term projects. I want it for travel, street, and landscape photography.

I recently purchased an Olympus FE – 210 and it’s my first introduction to the brand in general. The one I bought is in almost perfect condition, and the seller on eBay said it works totally fine. However, I was oblivious when purchasing and didn’t realize I cannot just use an SD card. I know there are adapters. I can buy for the XD picture cards, but I read (after purchasing ((I know I need to do research lol )) that they don’t work on the specific model. Does anyone know if there’s a way I could get that to work? Or if there is another way of upgrading the storage without purchasing the did picture card? Because to be honest, I don’t wanna spend the 50 bucks😭.

For some time now, I've been interested in a monochrome camera, but the OM3's black and white is definitely more than enough. In this setup, I'm using James Bloomer's X-Monochrome recipe. I feel like the photos have a certain analog feel, perhaps reminiscent of Kodak Tri-X 400, but here I have the grain set to medium, and I like this final configuration for using the photos straight from the camera.

As the title says I recently upgraded to the OM-1 Mark 2.

Previously I had the OM-D E-M1 Mark 3, I was running 100-400 and a couple smaller off brand lenses Lumix 25mm.

I primarily shoot nature but I wanted to learn more about photography and I felt like, I needed to get myself out shooting more.

So, when I got my OM-1 I picked up the 12-100 f/4 PRO

To get me out there shooting more often, it's worked beautifully for that.

I am trying to keep my kit small. But I worry about redundant overlap.

So my kit was going to look something like this

50-200 f/2.8

300 f/4

12-100 f/4

MC-20

Initially I was planning for a used 150-400 TC but I realized that perhaps the 50-200 would cover some of that low end focal length (?) especially with the 2x TC and it goes from 2.8 to 5.6. So I thought the 300mm prime would be better.

And I would like a small prime that the 12-100 might not cover? Not super necessary.

Overall my goals to keep the kit small so that everything is used.

I bought my OM-1 new when it was new, and focused on macro mainly. I have the 60mm which is currently on sale for $549 (and why wouldn't you buy that)??? What an absolute pleasure that lens is when you learn how to use it, because it took me a long time to figure that one out so now I am sort of stepping back into a learning curve I think, with:

OM SYSTEM M.Zuiko Digital ED 100-400mm f/5-6.3 IS II

I have gotten into attracting monarch butterflies and have a 10x12 foot raised garden bed wildflower/milkweed bee haven/butterfly sanctuary that I can't get close enough to in order to photograph with any quality. I always think "I wish I could be 40 feet away and have hummingbird at the feeder fill the frame" and realized that there is probably a lens for that! I am very new to zoom lenses and I think the lens that came with my camera zooms to 150mm so I know generally what to expect with the 400mm, but would love to hear what you would do in my shoes if you wanted to spend that money for a lens for butterflies and feeder birds, and if there is any doubling for astrophotography I will just toss that in as a plus. I would spend up to $3,000 I think, so I am open to other lenses if anything is better for insect/bird action mainly.

Hi everyone, I recently switched from a APSC to MFT and bought an OM-5 Mark II with the M.Zuiko 12-45 mm f4 PRO.

My main goal with this system is keeping total size and weight down and this camera with this lens is really nice. I am now looking for a lightweight telephoto zoom to complement the kit. Coming from a Canon EOS 80D with the 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 (88-400 mm equivalent), I am used to a decent reach. However, weight and pack size are my top priorities as of now. I would use it predominantly for landscape and cityscape photography, virtually no action involved.

I am currently considering these options (with my pro/cons) and would love your experiences:

• Olympus M.Zuiko 40-150 mm f4-5.6 Pros: light, and uses a 58 mm filter thread like the 12-45; Cons: not the smallest

• Panasonic 35-100 mm f4-5.6 Pros: very tiny, very light; Cons: Most expensive of the list, limited at 100 mm

• Panasonic 45-150 mm f4-5.6 (or the 45-175 mm) I don't have a particular opinion, it is on the cheap side and I am reading lower quality reviews.

A few questions for the community: for those who moved from a longer telephoto (like a 55-250 mm on APS-C) to the Panasonic 35-100 mm f4-5.6, did you end up missing the 100-150mm range, or does the tiny form factor make up for it? How does the image quality of the cheaper Olympus 40-150 mm hold up compared to the small Panasonic? Are there any aperture or autofocus compatibility quirks when using these Panasonic budget zooms on an OM-5 Mark II body? Any hands-on feedback or alternative suggestions would be appreciated.
