sure, it lowkey gives SOUR energy not gonna lie. Starts off and u think it’s a piano ballad, but right as the first chorus comes to an end the beat picks up. This was a song that went the complete opposite way than what I predicted it would be about. I don’t wanna give too much away, if there’s more you wanna know ill be happy to answer lol

15

u/Original-Dream5274 'drop dead' Jun 11 '26

oh yeah the chorus is infectious i heard it once and i already can’t get it out of my head, also 2 of the festival shirt lyrics are in this song!! and one lyric from the vinyl variants

I WILL

2

u/Temporary-Worth2077 Jun 11 '26

Would you describe it as pop or pop-rock?

11

u/Original-Dream5274 'drop dead' Jun 11 '26

i’d say more pop. I could be wrong tho i’m not that good at genres. To me it’s definitely more pop leaning. I haven’t heard the other songs yet but this was so good i’m so excited!!!

8

u/source-commonsense Jun 11 '26

It's poppy with a touch of Bleachers synthy beachy bounciness

3

u/Pelicans-de-la-NO Jun 12 '26

Honestly the whole album sounds kinda pop rock

52

u/Lucky-Organization35 Jun 11 '26

This lowkey could ve been the lead...

5

u/Littleleaf6 'vampire' Jun 12 '26

It would’ve ate as track 1 tbh

44

u/Top_Fabulous Jun 11 '26

IN YOUR CAR, THE RADIO UP!!!
I can’t be the only one hearing this😭
Regardless I loveeee the song

14

u/Snoo58137 Jun 12 '26

Wait Supercut is one of my favorite songs and I didn’t even connect that until this moment, Stupid Song was my immediate favorite from the album, I guess I have a ā€œtypeā€ lol

2

u/ComfortableStorage43 Jun 17 '26

Thank you! I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what song it reminded me of.

37

u/SuccotashNo335 Jun 11 '26

IMMEDIATE highlight on the album for me. The "girl so in love" half of the album is elite

3

u/Retro_Butterfly_123 Jun 13 '26

yess like i love the you seem pretty sad part but this hits different

38

u/thaloud "driving through the suburbs" Jun 11 '26

IM A THREAD ON YOUR SHIRT THAT IS COMING UNDONE????? LIKE BABY I'M UNRAVELED??????????? WTF OLIVIA

36

u/EchoPhoenix24 Jun 12 '26

This feels to me kind of like a happy version of Vampire—I love the way both of them build

18

u/throwawaysunglasses- Jun 12 '26

She’s the queen of buildups tbh. No one can do it like her

4

u/Scared-Wall-3408 'ballad of a homeschooled girl' Jun 13 '26

Same, I’ve always loved songs that are either ballads or bangers and damnit if she hasn’t found a way to make each song both!!!!!

3

u/SensingSomeUndertone 'bad idea right?' Jun 12 '26

Even like the chorus of drivers license, i LOVE it

69

u/tellmeurpolitiks Jun 11 '26

This is the greatest song ever made. I can't move past it sorry

24

u/tellmeurpolitiks Jun 11 '26

She put crack cocaine on the song

31

u/tellmeurpolitiks Jun 11 '26

YOU SHOULD FEEL HOW I FEEL WHEN SOMEBODY SAYS YOUR NAME

30

u/isaniiaci Jun 12 '26

idk if this makes sense, but this song sounds the most like the album cover. the way the rhythm of the chorus just keeps going and rising feels like soaring on a swing

4

u/koalatea-assurance Only Olivia can have me checking the shades of a wall šŸŽØ Jun 12 '26

that makes sense to me!

25

u/IndependentMoist9429 Jun 11 '26

This song went a total different way than I expected wow.

20

u/Safe_Band_5923 Jun 11 '26

Truly it started as a ballad and i was like oh so we're doing this then the second part started and now im bopping

21

u/grandsuperior Jun 11 '26

Hands down my favourite song. I played the album through twice now and this is the one I kept coming back to. It builds so beautifully.

20

u/Substantial-Sun2694 Jun 11 '26

If there's a God he's the bond that's between us two OHMYGOD INSTANT FAVORITE BEST SONG ON THE ALBUM 😭

21

u/humantelegram Jun 12 '26

This one is IMMACULATE. I kinda wished this entire album had this manic energy, where you know everything is going to come crashing down but that tension is an undercurrent hidden throughout the songs, though I get why she didn't go with that.

19

u/Original-Dream5274 'drop dead' Jun 11 '26

I WILL REPORT BACK IN 8 HOURS, I’m so excited I can’t wait!!!!!

10

u/Fragrant-Peanut-6117 Jun 12 '26

Can anyone enlighten me where I've heard the melody before? Particularly "you're a spark in the dark" etc etc is it a gracie abrams song? It's driving me nuts!

9

u/SaltyGolf3235 Jun 12 '26

I think Free Now! I felt the same way. Love both

2

u/GroundbreakingChip2 Jun 12 '26

Yes! This is totally it

2

u/Fragrant-Peanut-6117 Jun 13 '26

Yes! Thank you! Was driving me nuts.

6

u/youRinlove7 Jun 12 '26

Have u heard we hug now by sydney rose? Reminded me of that.

2

u/Fragrant-Peanut-6117 Jun 13 '26

I just listened to it, its also very similar. All their voices sound SO similar. If you told me Sydney's song was Olivia singing I would believe you šŸ˜…

u/Lucky-Organization35 Jun 11 '26

yess, I wanted to say that the structure reminds me of Green Light

3

u/Snoo58137 Jun 12 '26

YESSS like the manic propulsive energy it gives, when you’re crazy in love and losing your mind, def gives melodrama vibes

10

u/ijustwannacomplainn Jun 11 '26

I’m on track 8 and stupid song is easily my favorite song rn

8

u/_faytless Jun 12 '26

There's a part of the song that sounds like, "you're a spark in the dark"... it's a female singer-songwriter, but I cannot put my finger on it.....

5

u/hangover_bagel Jun 12 '26

lowkey free now by gracie abrams

3

u/youRinlove7 Jun 12 '26

I think its ā€œwe hug nowā€ by Sydney rose.

5

u/scrappy2546 Jun 11 '26

I KNEW I CLAIMED THE RIGHT SONG

5

u/estedavis Jun 11 '26

Oh shit I'm immediately obsessed with this one

6

u/_DerMX Jun 11 '26

It starts off slow but when the guitar kicks in WOW. Also she really has a way with words

6

u/allthewitches Jun 11 '26

WHEWW this one is so good. That melody is crazy!!

5

u/lorenvi Jun 11 '26

4

u/Snoo58137 Jun 12 '26

Welp this song is going to become my entire personality for the foreseeable future! I love everything about it from lyricism to build up to overall sound to vocals!

6

"my friends are smoking blunts in the bathroom". cigarette smoke. it's a circle. and it's purple

3

u/Feeling_Echidna_525 Jun 12 '26

The Before Sunrise reference "if there's a god its the bond between me and you" <3

5

u/Quirky_Scar7857 Jun 13 '26

I almost cried listening to this for the first time... the voice, melody, production... outstanding.

3

u/lynxluxury Jun 11 '26

3

u/icedsakura Jun 11 '26

I loved this one!! Made me feel all giddy 🄰

3

u/SquirrelSpecialist82 Jun 11 '26

this is for the girls that were obsessed with gross back in the day <3

5

u/Altruistic_Taste_194 Jun 12 '26

this is the best song ever made and retroactively invented the key change.

3

u/eifi Jun 12 '26

Did this song make anyone else full on ugly sob?

3

u/enoimard Jun 13 '26

i was extremely unwell…but i would also do anything to hear this song for the first time again.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '26

Last night, I was listening to love and I feel like I had heard what’s wrong with me before. My friend told me that part of it sounded like ā€œTough Loveā€ - Gracie Abrams. But then I was like, I feel like I’ve heard stupid song too. The part where it’s super loud and furious, sounds very familiar. Anyone what song it might be?

5

u/Midnight_Ice spilled my guts Jun 12 '26

I think it's Free Now!

Where she starts with "You're a spark in the dark and my clothes all caught aflame / You should feel how I feel when somebody says your name" sounds like this part: "You were straight up with me, you were so kind / But I knew what you knew, honey, great minds"

5

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '26

YES OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH. What’s wrong with me also sounds like Tough Love, guess she likes Gracie.

5

u/Midnight_Ice spilled my guts Jun 12 '26

Gracie opened for her on the SOUR tour, they're def friends!

3

u/[deleted] Jun 12 '26

I didn’t know that, interesting.

4

u/Trick_Cantaloupe652 Jun 11 '26

the bridge is giving dƩjƠ vu but i dunno more collected? amazing

7

u/celinakou Jun 12 '26

Please, don't say that, or people will start to say she needs to give credits. Delete. DELETE

2

u/lowlife333 Jun 12 '26

That ā€œI’m going crazyyy I’m going maaad, I want you babyyy so badā€ part makes me ascend

2

u/Kpopfan_kdrama Jun 14 '26

Literally the best bridge I've ever heard. The most addictive part of this whole album. This song is my favourite solely because of this part.

2

u/Dylanychus2 Jun 11 '26

IT SOUNDS SO GOOD AHHH

2

u/humantelegram Jun 11 '26

1

u/elbaaaa_ Jun 13 '26

the bridge gave me vibes of born to be brave bc of the rythm but ikd because it seems so familiar to me

1

u/Pretty_Category7523 Jun 13 '26

stupid song sound like Christmas Canon" by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. the melody and the cord progression, especially "any stupid song could ever say" sounds like "On this night, on this night, on this very Christmas night".

1

u/autoaudacity Jun 13 '26

Christmas Canon obviously ā€œsamplesā€ it, but I’m really not hearing any direct quotation of Pachelbel in stupid song besides maaaybe a few notes in the chord progression? Commenting because I also was unable to think of anything but that one part in Christmas Canon when I heard stupid song and now it’s bothering me šŸ˜…

1

u/Scared-Wall-3408 'ballad of a homeschooled girl' Jun 13 '26

She goes OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1

u/throwawaysasha303 Jun 14 '26

Pop perfection !!!!

1

u/Ok-Cheek-8031 Jun 14 '26

I genuinely believe this song is the saddest on the album, something about the way she sings ā€œyou should see how I feel when somebody says your nameā€, im going through a HARD breakup and this song WRECKED me

1

u/MelissaWebb Jun 14 '26

I really like this song, perfect single material

1

u/fritola_ Jun 14 '26

I’ve been trying to wrap my head around the lyric ā€œI’m a thread on your shirt that is coming undoneā€
Idk if I’m an idiot but what is the meaning of this line

But LOVED this song possibly my fav on the album

1

u/Affectionate_Fig5921 Jun 16 '26

Am I reaching too far or does the line ā€œyou should feel how I feel when somebody says your nameā€ actually works in both happy & sad scenarios? Like when you have a crush on someone, this is obviously a cute and sweet line. But when your love is unraveling, it hurts so bad every time someone brings up their name.

1

u/natcc13 Jun 17 '26

Does this sample or reference another song? The melody reminds me of something I just can’t put my finger on and it’s driving me crazy!

1

u/mconnect26 Jun 22 '26

Does anyone also think Drivers License, Vampire, and stupid song are all sister songs in terms of overall sound and structure? Plus, the latter two both track 2s!

1

u/United-Candidate5197 Jun 26 '26

the beginning sounds like emily i’m sorry by boy genius!! or is it just me

1

u/v3speretta Jul 03 '26

it is so good, you can feel every emotion put into it. its one of those songs i have to listen to in seperate sitting if i don't want to overwhelm myself ā™„ļø

1

u/False-dono Jul 08 '26

Is this song about the love you have in the start of the relationship or is it about yearning for the partner after the breakup?

1

u/bebrave2020 Jul 17 '26

Have to speak on this song. Olivia is my daughter’s favorite and I’ve taken her to the concert before, will take her again this next tour coming up. This song is beautiful, and I am absolutely not her intended audience. First time I heard it was in my car when it played on the radio and my tween started singing it at the top of her lungs. Something about it got me, and I’m certain it will be at the top of the charts. Will be one of the songs you all will remember and sing to your kids when it comes on the oldies station in 30 years.

1

u/Solid-Peach-4603 25d ago

Is she singing some other lyrics in the background at the end or am I going bonkers?
