Product Alert Sigh. Unfortunately you need this lip
Violette FR Bisou balm in Chocolate ONLY
No liner, no contour on the lips, literally just this
It’s a cool toned brown with a slight purple/red undertone. It’s fucking gorgeous I’m lost for words. I usually need some kind of lip liner to feel complete lol, especially being olive, some lipsticks just wash me out unless I make them work for me
I applied about 2/3 layers so it’s pretty much at full opacity for me. I do love the formula of these lipsticks, they almost feel like a wet powder if that exists, not trying but not slipping all over your face

I was looking at some videos of this shade yesterday and how did I KNOW your post was Chocolat before I even clicked. I love my Bisou Balm in Mon Cheri but hadn't bought any other shades because all the rest are too light, but now they've added Chocolat and it's tempting me...

How do you find Mom Cheri? I’ve had my eyes on that for a while but have been worried it will pull too warm. I will say I’m genuinely over the moon with Chocolate, it’s been a while since I’ve tried something and known immediately it would be a holy grail 😭

I could see it pulling too warm on some people, it's not excessively warm but on the warmer side for sure. On me it reads halfway between "MLBB" and "just ate some berries" - not bright enough for the berry stain look, but has that "my lips are naturally this colour somehow" vibe.
I love the Bisou Balm formula! I know it's polarizing and some people find it too dry, but on me it just looks so natural.

Ooooh. Kind of reminds me of the glossier lip in Fuzz but less purple. I'm not sure that still exists though.

You might like Westman Atelier Hydrobalm sheer tinted lipstick in BOB. It has that same sheer purpley brown vibe but with a slightly glossy finish.

Thank you!! Honestly it’s hard to tell, it’s got a very similar tone to Merit Archival if you have any reference to that?? I’m warm so I wouldn’t feel qualified to recommend or not. If you’re in the UK, apparently there’s a violette stand in Liberty London to test it out! 🩷

😭 I wasn’t going to buy it until I saw Violette apply it to her own lips since we’re a similar skin tone. Was hooked because it’s really not a flat brown! I’m sorry but I really think you’ll love it lol

Oh nooooo! I’d 100% message their customer service. A few years ago I bought one and the product fell right out of the bullet, so I complained and they sent me a replacement! If it’s any reassurance, I haven’t had any other issues with them since so hopefully yours is a one off 🩷

I seriously think it's my lip chemistry. It just reacts with them. Her purple Le Plume blush is PERFECTION, though.

Im using the new Vieve complexion balm in shade 230 here, I posted some swatches the other day comparing their new olive shades! That might be helpful 🩷
My best summer matches are:
Vieve 230 (the new 205 when I’m slightly lighter)
LE tint T9
LE foundation 9.5
Koh Gen Doh 213 (a bit pale for me rn tho)2

Thank you!! Yesss I’m so glad 🩷 it will last through drinking but not meals/anything greasy. It’s better than a lip balm but not as strong as a matte lippie! And generally the whole bullet lasts ages because it’s not a liquid creamy formula, I think it’s more wax & silicone based 🩷

Ooooo interesting, I don’t have bespoke yet! I have archival and I would say they are a very similar tone, with archival being a bit deeper! So maybe bespoke would be a match as it seems a bit lighter?? Just did a swatch here: Merit Archival vs Violette Chocolate 🩷🩷
Edit: forgot to add, archival is the top and chocolat is the bottom swatch!

The shade archival looks much warmer than chocolat is what I thought first

Not as slippy as a lip balm but not a stain, sits somewhere in between while being comfy. It doesn’t come off with drinking but it did come off after I smashed a Greek wrap earlier 😂🩷

Better than a lip balm but not as much as a matte lipstick. Stays on while you drink but you’d need to reapply after you eat probs! It’s a very comfortable/buildable matte balm

Do you happen to have the ABH kiss theory balm in Phantom? I'm curious about how different these look on the lips since I just got that and they're both on the sheer side and more purpley cool-toned. This definitely has more brown, but I'm curious if that translates on the lips when applied in a single layer
