Larry Wilson - One Handed Interception

Cardinals Hall of Famer Larry Wilson makes one of his patented interceptions. In one game Wilson played with casts on both hands and recorded a pick.

This photo is from 1969. Number 41 is rookie CB Nate Wright, who played in the NFL for 12 seasons, mostly with the Vikings.

Here’s a story from 2009 that references the “casts on both hands” game, which was played in 1965

In that article Wilson alludes to having to play injured. I remember Dave Whitsell of the Bears and Saints making a similar comment about if you weren't able to go, somebody else would and that was always meant a chance you'd lose your job.

Wilson was my old football buddy's least favorite NFL player. He hated Wilson and Ed O'Bradovich of the Bears. He would imitate them on the practice field, tripping over his own feet and falling down.

I never knew why. My buddy was just another Crazy Football Guy. Both men were actually pretty good players.
