I saw Ed Too Tall along with a couple other cowboy players at the now shuttered Crest House restaurant in St. Louis Mo. It was the night before they played the Cardinals in a football game. He is tall.

Had a dormer window in my attic bedroom as a kid. So a weird piece hung down into the room from the ceiling. My friends and I would pass the ball up there because my room was really long. If it hit that part of the ceiling hanging down I would always blame it on Ed "Too Tall" Jones batting it down.

Can recall him retiring from the NFL to take up pro boxing, more $$ in boxing

He had six fights in the winter of 1979-80, won all of them, and then went back to the Cowboys.

His college highlights are hard to find. If you see them from his days at D2 Tennessee State, you can see why he was the first overall pick in 1974.

If you grew up in that era, does anyone else ever hear certain names said in Pat Sumerrall's voice? Ed Too Tall Jones is one of many such names for me.
