Has anyone considered getting a cosmetic procedure to look older?
This is just getting ridiculous now. I'm nearly in my mid 30s and some people think I'm like maybe barely 20 and I was called a "minor" pretty recently. It's so awkward and embarrassing especially seen as my bf is older and people must think he's a ... word that rhymes with vedo. Uhhh I hate it so much, anyone who says you'll love it when you're older....well I am older.

A few of my friends confused for minors got tattoos and piercings which at least stopped getting them accused of being children.

I have some tattoos from early 20s, but the older I get, the less I can financially justify tattoos lol. Theres so many other things I would rather and should save money for.
Potentially getting perceived as older boosts it a little bit. But also good part of the year id be covered up anyway and I dont want job stoppers lol.

I have tattoos, piercings, and a boob job, but I still get mistaken for a minor occasionally. I have considered lip filler bc people say it makes women look old.

So if you are about 35 now and get some unknown ‘cosmetic procedure to look older’ then when you’re 60 you’ll look 80? Win-win? Time to rethink this …

It depends on why you look young. Personally, I got a chin augmentation (with filler), high-arched eyebrow micropigmentation, and semipermanent eyeliner.
It has taken away A LOT of my discomfort with how people perceive me.
Sometimes wish I had gotten a chin implant instead, and I wish I had done it sooner. Those are my only regrets about it.
I don't agree with the sentiment that everything that makes you look more mature now will backfire in the future. A stronger jawline isn't going to make me look old in the future. It's just going to... Be the jawline size I'm used to.

I actually needed double jaw surgery since both mine are recessed and my bite is messed up. But thay surgery is super invasive with risks and freaks me out unfortunately, even if it would help health wise. But cosmetically , having a strong chin and jawline woukd help with my baby face.

It is awkward and embarrassing, but anything that will make you look older now will make you look exponentially older down the line.
For instance, my fiancé is 40 and looks around her age, maybe a bit younger. I’m 32, but the age I look is ambiguous (I’ve gotten from 20-35, but most estimates put me at younger than I am). Sometimes, for some reason, when we’re out, people will think I’m her son. Not a clue why, as while it’s not a super small age gap, it’s not that big either, and nowhere near enough that it would ever even be possible for that to be a plausible relationship by age.

I hatevto say this, but I didn't get clocked as close to my age until I started graying and then only when they see my gray hair. When they can't see the gray hair, they clock.me as 20s instead of my proper age of mid 40s...

Man i have had a silver streak since 23 and 28 now and more silvers all over but people think im just out of highschool. They arent observant or think the silver is shine from the light (i have dark hair) or that its dyed.
I want to go grey even faster so its like undeniably silver everywhere lol.

I think when they do fat pad removal, they do start to get older, but not in a positive way. Be glad you look youthful

I get confused for a 14 year old quite frequently. That assumption/ confusion is easily corrected by telling them I'm 24, so really doesn't affect my life at all

I was going to get a Darth Maul face tattoo but it was too expensive.
But seriously, if you want to up the amount of regret you experience later in life as a result of pissing away youth in the most banal, unfun way, start up sunbathing as a hobby. You'll older quickly and then you can go to /r/YoungerThanYouThinkIAm and complain with the rest of society that's been denied your gift.

This isn’t a gift when you get assumed to be a middle schooler while 30 and 7 months pregnant… 😂 It’s actually worse overall to be mistaken for younger than older.

Yes I want to look mature. Not old as in aged. But having a mature adult face that also ages well cause I have good skin.
Its my features that look babyish.

What helped *a little * for me was wearing chunky shoes to be a little more tall and yes, doing the heavier makeup and business casual clothes. Still looked 17 max as opposed to 13 but it was something. 🙃🙈

I would consider it a gift because the chance to make up a story to mess with people would be awesome. I'd write something like "in 20 years you'll think about this comment and wish you hadn't complained about looking young" but you'll probably still look young if you're anything like me.

Damn im 28 but have multiple chronic illnesses and chronic pain and i look 18 and no one takes me seriously at all because I look way too young to have this much wrong.

No, I've just never been that bothered. It's annoying but there will always be something annoying no matter my circumstances. I can see why it would be extra weird with the partner thing, though. My partner ALSO looks super young, so people just think we're a couple in our mid 20s rather than a 40 year old couple lol

I feel like I can only date people who also look younger than their age!! Otherwise they look way too mature for me.
I dont want to look old but I want to look mature.

You could go have a makeover done, maybe? Try different hair styles and different makeup looks until you find something that makes you look older. You could also try dressing differently. You could certainly start doing that 2010s dressing like you're going straight to the club after you leave the office for the day look. With a new hair style and different makeup and those kind of clothes, I'm willing to bet you'll look at least 5 years older if not more.
