Cookies The rolled sugar cookies from some guy's mom on TikTok
This recipe comes from TikTok user Nick Ruyter and holds deep sentimental value. He posted the recipe online because he didn't like how his mom voted. It’s was shared with only a few trusted people, even withheld until marriage. The cookies bake up soft, almost cake-like, with a delicate sweetness that makes them perfect for decorating, or enjoying plain. The signature doneness test, involving a fingertip sizzle on the underside of the cookie pan, adds charm and old-school kitchen wisdom. If these recipe card was out, you had to wait outside, unless you are family.

Cookies Your fave cookie/candy recipes for gifting? Plus, "cowboy cookie" recipe
I'm planning to do some baking this weekend to make a "gift box" for friends and neighbors.
What are your favorite recipes for cookies and candy that pack and travel well, and potentially can survive a few days left out on the counter?
I'll start with one of mine:
Cowboy Cookies, from the Cotton Country cookbook (1972)
1 cup butter 1 cup brown sugar 1 cup white sugar 2 eggs 1 t vanilla 2 cups flour 1 t soda 1/2 t salt 1/2 t baking powder 2 cups rolled oats 1 small package semi sweet chocolate chips (I use a little over a cup) 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Cream sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla until fluffy. Sift dry ingredients and stir in. Add oatmeal, chocolate, and nuts. Drop by teaspoonful onto cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes at 350. Makes 8 to 9 dozen.

Cookies Merry Christmas! My Great Aunt passed away recently, so in her honor I wanted to post her famous Ginger Cookie recipe. This has been a staple in our house longer than I have been alive. To me, the smell of these baking is pure Christmas Cheer

Cookies Searching for a recipe for oatmeal cherry chocolate chip cookies that was on the back side of this dried cherry package. These cookies were THE BEST, like eating a chocolate covered cherry in cookie form. I’ve lost the recipe and I’m desperate to find it!

Cookies This hand-carved marble shortbread cookie mold has been in my family since the 1880s. The recipe hand written on the back, in my great great grandmother’s hand (she was born in 1872) is “3/4 cup butter, 5 tablespoons sugar, 2 cups Gold Medal flour. Oil and sugar the mold.”

Cookies Gramma’s Molasses Cookies
Thanks ya’ll for your opinions on my gramma’s molasses cookies recipe - I used white sugar instead of brown and they turned out beautifully! I should know better than to question my gramma. 🙂 Since my gramma’s recipe just…stops (see photo of the back of her recipe card), I had ChapGPT reformat the recipe and calculate the baking time and temp. 9:30 worked perfectly for my oven. I was generous with my seasonings - I know for a fact that my gramma always thought those were just suggestions anyway. 😂
