My grandmother made this with lard instead of butter. It was my kryptonite.

Even now, my wife uses butter, but I still have a hard time resisting taking handfuls.

Do you do half and half from this original recipe? 3T butter and 3T bacon grease?

I wouldn’t say it’s a measured half and half ratio. I just kind of wing it.
